ABERDAM Dutch Fries at Sportsterz (Merchant City, Glasgow) 2023 : Review

Visit & Vibes

The guys at ABERDAM Dutch Fries invited me to check them out a while ago when they visited Glasgow. The event was near their Deliveroo base, and we got treated to some lovely food.

With all the success they have had since doing deliveries in Glasgow, people kept asking them where can they go and have a sit down mean rather than a takeaway, and tonight that has officially happened inside Sportsterz at Merchant City.

The Food

The first time I tried their food I couldn’t fault it, the flavours were perfect so tonight I was looking forward to trying some more dishes.

Salt & Pepper Chicken Dirty Dutch Fries £n/a tonight (normally £13.00)
A&O Chinese salt & pepper dusted dutch fries, salt & pepper chicken strips, grilled onions, sweet chilli sauce & spring onions.

My friend ordered these, and I am sure these were what I got the last time but I still tried a little.

This had a great aroma and looked mega tasty and my friend couldn’t wait to dig in…but always when your with a blogger pics first then the eating.

The chicken was perfectly cooked and had a lovely seasoning, I could have easily just had the chicken from this dish…but it was what my friend ordered so he wouldn’t like that and two I had my own dish to eat.

My friend commented that it was very tasty and he enjoyed it and the chilli gave a good kick.

Buffalo Blue Dirty Dutch Fries £n/a tonight (normally £12)
Salted Dutch fries, breaded chicken, Frank’s buffalo hot sauce, crumbled blue cheese, blue cheese sauce, and spring onions.

This was my dish tonight, I was very tempted to try their burgers but I thought I will do that on my next visit.

This one jumped out at me, and on arrival, the aroma was soooo good! the blue cheese hit me and I loved it.

Visually this looked really good, and I couldn’t wait to dig in.

I tried to get a bit of everything, and ohh wow this was good! the blue cheese hit me first, then a slight chicken flavour ending in a hit of the hot sauce.

The chicken was lovely and tender and every bite were really good….the hot sauce for me was a little overpowering and did take away some of the other flavours but overall this was very tasty.

Churros £n/a tonight (normally £6.00
with Nutella or salted caramel dip

You know me by now, and I always have to end the night with someone sweet and the churros sounded good to me.

You get a really good portion size, and they smelled really good.

I opted for the salted caramel dip.

I took a bit without the dip and mmm so so good! and now I tried it with the dip and WOW this was perfect for me…sweet, crispy, cinnamony and overall just YUM!
