Visit & Vibes

It was time to visit Charcoals again, and tonight I visited here with a friend.

It was good to see Muhammad again and have a wee catchup.

The Food

I wanted to try something different tonight, and a starter wasn’t really on my list…but we decided to share the starter and opted for this.

Vegetable Pakora £n/a tonight (Normally £5.25)
Mixed Vegetables with some Spices, battered in Gram Flour & deep fried.

Muhammad brought these out as a wee extra from him, which was very kind.

I have had these here before and just like always don’t they look good!!

These had a nice aroma, and when I took a bite a lovely flavour and texture.

The batter was light but had a nice crispness to it, the flavour was lovely and also had a wee kick to it but one that didn’t distract from the flavour.

We enjoyed every bite and I highly recommend these if you visit.

King Prawn Butterfly £9.95
A selected king prawn coated with spices and deep fried.

I have never had this at Charcoals on any of my visits, so I was looking forward to trying something new.

On arrival, this looked very nice, and they were nice big king prawns…now it was time to taste.

I tried a little on its own and it was perfectly cooked, and packed with a great flavour. I then tried putting some lemon on it, and it transported the flavours to another level…this was so so good!

I am so glad we tried this tonight, as I would now have this again.

This dish is highly recommended!!!

Kofta Curry £15.95
Kofta is a family of meatball dishes famous in India, Pakistan & Bangladesh consisting of balls of minced or ground meat.

It had been ages since I have the Kofta Curry, so tonight I wanted to try it and see if it was still as good as I remembered.

On arrival, the presentation was just as I remembered, and the aroma was so good!!

Time to plate up and taste.

I took a bite of the meatball first, and mmm the flavour was amazing! It was lovely and tender and juicy and brought back memories from the last time I had it.

With the sauce and the rice, this was a very tasty dish, and I loved every mouthful from start to finish.

Tarka Dhal £n/a tonight

Another dish Muhammad brought out for me was this dish….Tarka Dhal.

This is a dish I would never order, as I tend to look for more curries etc when I visit but I am very glad he brought this out for me to try.

I put some on my plate and tried it on its own first, wow ok what have I been missing? the flavours were very very tasty! it was creamy and had a nice texture.

I tried it with some of my rice and again this was so so good! I would 100% order this as my main next time as I enjoyed it that much!
