Crabshakk Botanics (West End, Glasgow) 2023 : Review

Visit & Vibes

I have heard about Crabsakk as I have seen many people on my Instagram visit, so I added here to my list.

I was visiting tonight with good friends, and I couldn’t wait as I have only heard good things about here.

Tonight we were seated in front of the kitchen area at the high bench, which was very nice as you could see everything getting prepared.

The Food

I took a look at the menu and wow everything sounded very good, so I knew this would be a challenge but I was up for that challenge and started to think about what to order.

Wee Supper £9.00

I spotted they did a fish and chips dish but I was going to be ordering a few items, so a wee supper sounded perfect.

On arrival, this was a perfect size and smelled really good so I dug right in.

The chips were very tasty and perfectly cooked, and for me, no salt was needed which is always a good sign.

Now to try the fish, I started just trying it on its own. The batter was a light crisp, which allowed me to cut into it easily. The fish was packed with flavour and lovely and flakey and melted in my mouth…YUM!

Now I tried it with the tartar sauce and WOW this was a really good sauce!!

It’s been a while since I said this about fish and chips but for me, this is one of the best I have tried in a long time.

Salt and Pepper Squid £10.00
with Gurnard, Asian Slaw, Raita

There were two options for this and this is the one I went for as it sounded so good.

On arrival, the presentation was really good and my mouth started watering again.

I tried the squid on its own and it was perfectly cooked, had the perfect texture and had a nice taste. I then tried everything together and wow! the Asian slaw etc with the squid was amazing!

Every bite from now on was with a bit of everything and I really enjoyed this dish from start to end.

Highly recommended if you visit.

Crab Cakes x 3 £12.00
served with lemon mayo

This was actually my starter, as I was told to order a few dishes tonight and this one I selected to arrive first.

On arrival, this looked nice but was it worth £12….at first thought I was thinking maybe a little pricey…but that changed

I took a bite of one of the crab cakes and an explosion of flavours hit me, this was one of the tastiest crab cakes I have ever had and now I understand the cost and think it’s 100% worth it.

I tried with the mayo but to be honest, these were perfect on their own, and this is another dish I highly recommend you try.

So so so good!

I am so glad I finally visited here tonight, from start to finish I had a very enjoyable evening and meal.

The food here is packed with flavour, and I cant wait to visit again to try more dishes.

I am adding here to my top spots to visit.
