I have had here on my hit list for a very long time, and today I finally took a wee drive to get some lunch.
On arrival there is no car park so parking is very difficult, I would maybe suggest you park just a bit away from the hotel and walk.
Entering this hotel it is stunning, even from the little I saw today.

The Food
Looking at the menu there were loads! that sounded very very tasty but I had to decide what I fancied…..I decided to be a bit of a pig and check out 2 light bites.
Posh Haggis, Neeps & Tatties £10.50
breaded haggis bon bons, turnip puree, dauphinoise potatoes, whisky sauce
On arrival, this looked really nice, and my mouth started to water instantly.
I started with the potatoes and mmmm these were cooked perfectly and had a great texture and taste.
I then tried the haggis and WOW this was a very very nice haggis, possibly one of the nicest I have had!
Taking a bit of everything combined this was such a great dish, and one I could easily have again! even typing this review is making me want another.
If you visit here you have to order this!

Loaded Potato Scone Nachos £9.95
bacon lardons, haggis, cheese sauce
Yip, you read that correctly “potato scone nachos” and that’s exactly what caught my attention….and had to order it to see exactly what it was like.
On arrival, this looked like a very interesting dish but the aroma from it was very good!
It was time to dig in and try potato scone nachos…I picked one up and scooped up everything…
Oh now, this was different, but it tasted amazing! it had a great texture, and taste and was very very moreish! my only comment would be the potato scones needed to be a little bit crispier to hold everything.
Another dish I highly recommend!

Carrot Cake
I asked the waitress what sweets they had and she told me, so I set her a challenge and said just pick something for me and this was what she brought.
This looked very very good, and I couldn’t wait to dig right in.
This was nice and moist, nice and sweet, and was the perfect end to my lunch.
This was a very good cake! and I could have easily had another slice but I didn’t want to come over too much of a pig today.

Final Thoughts…
I am so glad I finally took a wee drive here, and I look forward to going back again to check out more dishes.
Today everything ran smooth and tasted great and due to that I am adding here to my top spots page.
