My Visit

Visit & Vibes
It has been a while since I was last here, and as I have been trying to go through my long “places to visit list” Oro was next.
Tonight I got a seat by the window which was nice as I could people watch, but the temperature was a little chilly as it was right next to the door but it was a cold night.
I had a perfect view of the dessert cabinet which was dangerous as I already knew what I wanted for dessert before I even saw the men for my main food.

The Food
The menu at Oro was large so there was something for everyone, tonight I wanted to try something different from my last visit and this is what I choose.
Meatballs al Forno £9.50
Italian meatballs oven-baked in white wine and tomato sauce. Served with a slice of garlic bread.

On arrival, this looked really good and so was its aroma.
My mouth was watering while I was taking the pics and I couldn’t wait to start.
I started with garlic bread, which was nice and not too strong a garlic flavour.
The meatballs were perfectly cooked and on their own had a very nice flavour, with the addition of the sauce it was very tasty.
I am glad I tried something different and would have these again.

Spaghetti Carbonara No 2 £14.95
Smoked Italian Guanciale, egg yolk, Pecorino and Parmesan cheese, no cream. Authentic Italian style.

Now, this was nice to see, an Italian restaurant with two options on the menu for Carbonara….technically there should only be one and that’s without the cream as that’s the proper way but I do know some people like cream.
On arrival, this looked very very good and I got it topped with pepper and cheese.
Everything about this was very nice, the spaghetti was perfectly cooked, the guanciale was so so tasty and had amazing flavour.
Overall this was very very very nice!! and if you are a carbonara fan you have to check this out.

Sicilian Cannoli £7.50
Crispy pastry shell filled with sweet Sicilian Ricotta and chocolate chips.

I spotted these earlier well basically as soon as I sat down, as I was seated near the door which is also near the dessert cabinet.
On arrival, I knew I was in for a tasty treat.
I dug right in and mmmm super tasty just as good as it looks.
This was crispy, creamy, sweet and perfect for my sweet tooth.
I LOVE!!!! cannolis and Oro do really good ones!!!

Final Thoughts…
Apart from being a little chilly, but as I said I was next to the window and the door and it was a cold evening…..tonight was very good.
I was very relaxed, enjoyed my meal and loved the whole time I was in.
I am keeping Oro on my top spots page as tonight’s experience and food I can’t fault in any way.
