La Bonne Auberge (Glasgow) 2022 : Review

Todays Visit

Tonight I was going to the Glasgow Concert Hall to see Dirty Dancing Live, and needed somewhere to eat before the show and I thought let’s take a visit back at La Bonne Auberge.

The Food

I had no idea what to order but I saw they had a Pre Fix Menu which meant I could get 2 courses for £21.95 or 3 for £26.95

I opted for 3 courses.

Pulled crab tian
Lemon & garlic mayo, Parmesan tuille, endive and radish salad

I had no idea what this would be but I saw crab and thought yip that sounds nice.

On arrival, this looked very nice and I couldn’t wait to try it.

This was very nice, it was light, creamy and had a nice subtle crab taste.

There was just a light aftertaste, and it was the perfect starter.

Mediterranean vegetable quiche (v)
Heirloom tomato salad, green beans and pickled red onion

I saw quiche and thought to myself it’s been a while since I have had one, so I ordered it.

On arrival, this looked interesting, though I think the presentation could have been better as it looked like the quiche was swimming in the veg.

I started with the veg which was cooked perfectly and had a really nice taste to it, then on to the quiche and mmm so good. I then tried a little of everything, and the flavours worked with each other and tasted amazing.

For me personally, there was just too much veg, but it all worked very well together and filled me up.

Crème Catalana
Baked orange infused custard, candied citrus, wafer biscuits

There is always room for dessert and this sounded very interesting.

On arrival this looked and smelled so good, I then cracked the top and took a bite and mmm creamy, slightly crunchy and a great flavour.

Think of a creme brulee but with orange flavours.

I could have easily had two of these…or maybe more as it was extremely tasty.

Visit Overall

Tonight’s visit was very nice, I have always liked the food here and the service and staff have always been good.

The option I chose for dinner was great value for money, and it has something for everyone’s taste on it.
