The Pepper Society (Pop-Up) (Glasgow) : Review

@thepeppersociety on Instagram messaged me and asked if I would like to try some tacos at home, as they are a new pop up.

I had a wee look at their Instagram and the tacos looked really yummy!

WHat I got

This is what I got, look at all those ingredient’s for the tacos 🙂

I decided to heat the tortilla up a little, along with the main ingredients rather than a cold tortilla which is ok but warm is always much nicer.

The Tacos

Mole con Nopales : Mexican cactus sautéed with mushrooms and mole.

Let me start by saying sorry about the photos, the Mole was very runny so I couldn’t take a pic of me holding it up.

I have never heard of Mole till tonight, so this would be interesting to try.

Now this was an interesting flavour, for me its a little hard to describe as its once you have to taste…closest I could say is a very deep mushroom flavour.

My dad even tried one and he really enjoyed it to.

Barbacoa : Slow cooked Ox cheek and short ribs

So this was slow roasted ox cheek and short ribs wrapped in banana leaves till extra tender. Topped with diced fresh onions, coriander and salsa verde.

Now this is how I wanted my first taco to look, but this one I could easily hold.

This was really nice, each bite I could taste everything and with a wee squeeze of the lime it just add that extra mmm

Note : Just because this was gifted, that has not influenced my thoughts in any way. The above is a 100% honest review of the food.

Firstly a big thanks to @thepeppersociety for letting me try her tacos and making my Friday evening that much better.

I really enjoyed tonights tacos, the flavours were really good and I even got to try something that I have never tried before “Mole” whats was very interesting.
