Since this opened I had heard from many people how good it was, and I added it to my list.

My issue….I don’t visit Edinburgh a lot so it would have to wait till my next visit…which happened recently.

After a nice walk around Edinburgh, taking in the sights I built up an appatite and headed for Dishoom.

On arrival I was told there was going to be about 1 hour wait, which wasnt good as I still had to get the bus back to Glasgow. The lady who was at the reception suggested, why not sit at the window if we are in a rush which was perfect so I did.

The Food…

Starter

Okra Fries £4.50
Fine lady’s fingers for the fingers (V)

So this was described as chips, so when it arrived and looked like the above photo I was a little confused.

After being a little confused I tried them….

These were very nice, the coating was very mmm and these were very easy to eat.

I re-read the description and I completely missed the lady fingers part, guess I need an eye test.

This was very nice, and I enjoyed every bite.

The lamb flavours were very nice and the filo used again perfect, it wasn’t too crispy just the perfect bite.

This was a very good portion size, and was very tasty.

Flavours were just right, and the chilli jam WOW this added an extra punch of flavour I loved it!!!

Overall

Did Dishoom live up to all the positive reviews I had heard about it?…..100% yes it did!

The food was very good, packed with flavour. The staff and service was very good.

My only issue would be, the cost…..maybe slightly pricey for some dishes by £1 to £3. I know that’s not much but if you order a few dishes, that soon adds up.

Would I go back? yeah I would but just take some extra cash next time.
