Finally am back, that’s the one thing that’s difficult when your a food blogger is making sure you go back to the places you like while trying new places.

I was here having dinner tonight before heading to the Garage to see the band The Rasmus, so tonight I wanted to try a few different things from my last visit.

The Food…

Puri Yoghurt Bombs £4.65
Everyone’s favourite cold Indian snack! Crispy Puri with potato, yoghurt, & tamarind

IMG_2754.jpg

So I went for these, I couldn’t remember if I had these the last time but I knew I really enjoyed them when I did have them…where ever that was.

WOW this is a great dish, the flavours and it’s so refreshing.

If you order a curry and want a refreshing end, for me this would be the perfect follow up even though its a starter.

TUK TUK Samosas (V) £4.30
Spicy pea & potato pastry

This looked very nice on arrival and I couldn’t wait to dig in.

For me this was a little spicy…but I don’t have the best spice tolerance so its probably nothing if you like a good strong curry.

The flavours again, and the sauce mmmm perfect.

SEEKH KEBABS (GF) (S) £5.60
Skewered lamb mince slowly cooked in the tandoor

I really like kebabs, so I thought let’s try one from here.

These were very nice but very spicy for my taste….so for me, the dish was just so so. If you like spicy foods or have a better spice threshold to me then you will probably really like these.

Overall

Overall I am glad to have gone back to Tuk Tuk, there are so many Indian restaurants in Glasgow all doing different styles and for tonight it was a perfect option.

See you soon guys.

Dishoom (Edinburgh) : Review

Since this opened I had heard from many people how good it was, and I added it to my list.

My issue….I don’t visit Edinburgh a lot so it would have to wait till my next visit…which happened recently.

After a nice walk around Edinburgh, taking in the sights I built up an appatite and headed for Dishoom.

On arrival I was told there was going to be about 1 hour wait, which wasnt good as I still had to get the bus back to Glasgow. The lady who was at the reception suggested, why not sit at the window if we are in a rush which was perfect so I did.

The Food…

Starter

Okra Fries £4.50
Fine lady’s fingers for the fingers (V)

IMG_7773

So this was described as chips, so when it arrived and looked like the above photo I was a little confused.

After being a little confused I tried them….

These were very nice, the coating was very mmm and these were very easy to eat.

I re-read the description and I completely missed the lady fingers part, guess I need an eye test.

Lamb Samosas £5.20
Gujarati filo stuffed with minced lamb, onions and spices (V)

This was very nice, and I enjoyed every bite.

The lamb flavours were very nice and the filo used again perfect, it wasn’t too crispy just the perfect bite.

This was a very good portion size, and was very tasty.

Flavours were just right, and the chilli jam WOW this added an extra punch of flavour I loved it!!!

Overall

Did Dishoom live up to all the positive reviews I had heard about it?…..100% yes it did!

The food was very good, packed with flavour. The staff and service was very good.

My only issue would be, the cost…..maybe slightly pricey for some dishes by £1 to £3. I know that’s not much but if you order a few dishes, that soon adds up.

Would I go back? yeah I would but just take some extra cash next time.
