Visit Date : 23rd October 2016

I have been a fan of Obu Pan Asian since it opened, the staff have always been very welcoming and the service has always been great. The decor is very modern and also very in style of the theme of the restaurant.

The atmosphere is always very relaxing, and when looking about everyone looks like they are enjoying the time there.

This weekend I tried to go in to another restaurant as it had been a while since last there, unfortunately it was fully booked which is good for them so I visited Obu as I wanted something Asian.

Starter

BAOS
2 Taiwanese steamed buns filled with your choice of:
– TENDER PORK STRIPS £6.95

I ordered this the last time I visited Obu, but it’s really good and it’s a must when I go in. Technically its classed as a sharer as you get two, but as you may have seen from my other posts I like to eat a lot.

The buns are nice and soft, and the pork is nice and tender.

The presentation is very nice, as you can see they are served in two baskets which really add to the authentic look of the restaurant.

SALT AND PEPPER SQUID £4.95
Crispy fried squid rings with chilli mayo dip.

Again I have had this before but for me, its just too tasty to not get. Again its presented in the basket, and if you are a fan of crispy squid then give this a try.

Main(s)

SWEET AND SOUR CHICKEN £11.95
Crispy fried chicken breast pieces coated in a sticky sweet and sour sauce with pineapple, red onion and mixed peppers finished with fresh coriander. Served with basmati rice.

Over the past year I have gone from Sweet n Sour Chicken as being one of my favourite dishes, to crispy shredded chicken so today I decided to give it another shot as I spotted Obu had it on the menu.

This was full of flavour and the chicken was nice and tender, and the portion size was just right.

Dessert

I decided to be good and not go for the donuts which I REALLY wanted to order, and just go for a Cappuccino to be a good boy this weekend.
