Mediterranean Kitchen Takeaway (Wishaw) 2026 : Review

Visit & Vibes

I was recently invited to check this place out, as it had only been open for a week at the time of my visit. Upon entering, the takeaway has a lovely Mediterranean vibe with its colour scheme.

Looking at the menu, I noticed they serve a mix of Greek and Italian food; it is an interesting combination, but I quite like it. Many items really stood out to me, so deciding what to have was going to be difficult.

MIXED CHICKEN + PORK GYRO WRAP £8.00
Freshly Wrapped Warm Pita Bread with Tomato, Red Onion,Tzatziki + Chips

Tonight, I opted for a mixed chicken and pork gyro wrap. It has been ages since I last had one, in fact, not since my trip to Greece, so I was really looking forward to trying this and seeing how it compared.

Upon opening the takeaway, I was impressed by the portion size; it was packed full, looked great, and the aroma was already making my mouth water.

Taking a big bite and ensuring I got a bit of everything, I found it super tasty. Every element worked well together. I really loved the combination of chicken and pork, it was a great choice, and I’m glad I went for it.

If you’re looking for a top-quality gyro, this is the place to go. I promise you won’t be disappointed!

RIGATONI SALSICCIA PASTA £9.00
Rigatoni with Spicy Italian Sausage + Garlic, cooked in Napoli Sauce.

The staff also wanted me to try another dish, so I asked for a recommendation. Since I am a huge pasta fan and love Italian sausage, they suggested a specific dish, and I agreed.

When I opened the takeaway, it looked delicious and the aroma was exceptional. I plated it up, sprinkled some Parmesan cheese over the top, and sat down to try it.

The pasta was perfectly cooked, and the sauce combined with the spicy Italian sausage was restaurant-quality. The flavour was incredible, truly exceptional for a takeaway.

If you are looking for restaurant-quality pasta to enjoy at home, you really need to check this place out. I’m not just saying that; it was so good that I could have easily eaten a second portion!

ARANCINI £6.00
Golden Italian Rice Balls Filled With Melted Mozzarella. Served with Napoli Tomato Sauce.

The staff also wanted me to try their Arancini. I’m a massive fan, but it has to be done right, so I was looking forward to seeing how they prepared them.

When opening the takeaway, I found it came with four arancini balls and a side sauce. After plating them up, I decided to dig right in.

From my first bite, I was extremely impressed, just like with the pasta, it was restaurant-quality. Everything about it, from the crispness of the outside to the flavors within, was excellent. I truly enjoyed it from start to finish.

LOUX DRINK
Sour cherry juice drink

The staff also encouraged me to try one of their traditional drinks. During my time in Greece, I never really explored the local soft drinks, so I was excited to try something new.

I opted for the cherry version. As I opened the bottle and poured it over ice, the aroma was very sweet and nice, and the first sip was incredibly refreshing. It had a wonderful balance of sweetness and tartness that perfectly complemented the meal.

I thoroughly enjoyed it, and it is definitely something I would have it again.

I sampled a variety of items from both cuisines, and everything was delicious. I honestly had no issues with any of it; the Italian dishes were of true restaurant quality, which is extremely rare to find in a takeaway.
