VISITED

Visit & Vibes
Today’s visit was for a friend’s birthday lunch gathering.
The Spanish Butcher has been on my must-visit list for a while now, but like many places on my list, it’s been a slow process getting around to it—life always seems to get in the way.

The venue is absolutely stunning, beautifully designed, and the staff were all very friendly. The service tonight was also excellent.

Beef & marrow sliders £10.00
truffl e cheese, harissa aioli

I opted for the à la carte menu, as I wasn’t really in the mood for a Sunday roast. Truthfully, I’ve never been that keen on them, so this felt like the better choice.
For my starter, I went with the sliders. The presentation was lovely, and the aroma coming off the dish was mouth-watering—it was definitely time to dig in.
With the first bite, I made sure it was a good one, and instantly the flavours hit. It was absolutely delicious. Everything was perfectly cooked, and the combination of ingredients worked really well together. The first slider disappeared quickly… and so did the second—these were seriously tasty.
I could have easily eaten another portion (or two!). If you’re into sliders, I highly recommend trying these if you visit.

Shetland monkfish tail £32.00
chorizo, capers, garlic, paprika butter

For my main course, I opted for the monkfish, as I was in the mood to try something a little different tonight.
Once again, the presentation was excellent, and the aroma coming from the dish was incredible.
I started by trying a piece of the monkfish on its own. It was perfectly cooked, packed with flavour, and absolutely delicious. I then combined it with the chorizo and the sauce—wow, that took it to a whole new level. The chorizo was perfectly cooked too—melt-in-the-mouth and so full of flavour.
Every bite from start to finish was fantastic. This was another dish I could have easily ordered again. The flavours were spot-on, and I thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it.

Final Thoughts…
Overall, everyone had a really lovely time and enjoyed a fantastic lunch.
For me, everything from start to finish was full of flavour, perfectly cooked, and incredibly moreish. As I mentioned with both dishes, I could have easily had them again. I’m so glad I finally ticked The Spanish Butcher off my list.
If you’ve never been, I highly recommend paying it a visit. Yes, some of the prices are on the higher side, so it’s not somewhere you’d go every week—but what you do get is excellent service and incredibly tasty food.
This lunch was so good from start to finish that I’m officially adding The Spanish Butcher to my top restaurant spots list.
