Visit & Vibes
Tonight, I returned to Joia Italian Restaurant and Bar in Glasgow’s West End.
I’ve been here before and have always enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. Tonight, however, we were celebrating a friend’s birthday, and I was especially looking forward to it.
The restaurant was busy tonight, so I didn’t take any photos out of respect for the other patrons. If you’re interested in seeing the interior, which has a lovely and relaxing atmosphere, you can check out their website and Instagram.

The Food
L’ARANCINO AL TARTUFO (£2.95 each)
Truffled Arancino, Butter, Grana Padano, Truffle Mayo (V)

I couldn’t remember what I had last time, and I didn’t bother checking my review.
I decided to go with what I felt like tonight and chose the arancini for my starter.
You can choose how many you want, and tonight I opted for just two. When they arrived, the presentation was very nice. They were a good size, perfect for a starter, and I couldn’t wait to dig in.
With my very first bite, I was hit with a wonderful flavour. They were perfectly cooked and extremely tasty. The truffle mayonnaise was a fantastic combination.
These were amazing and highly recommended. Next time, I think I’ll order an extra one because they were that good.

IL RISOTTO ZUCCA
Carnaroli Rice, Butternut squash, Sage, Goat Cheese

For my main course, I again didn’t check what I had last time and opted for the fish risotto.
This dish included king prawns, and I was eager for it to arrive, as the description sounded really good.
When it did, the portion size was adequate, suitable for a main course, especially if you plan to have dessert afterwards. The aroma was delightful, and
I couldn’t wait to dig in. I tried one of the king prawns first; it was perfectly cooked and had a wonderful flavour. Combined with the rice, it made for an amazing dish. The flavours were outstanding and perfectly balanced, making every bite enjoyable from start to finish.
I could easily have this again, that’s how good it was. Another fantastic dish this evening, and highly recommend if you ever visit here.
