Bella Vita (Mosspark, Glasgow) 2023 : Review

The Visit

Tonight’s visit to Bella Vita was extra special as I had family coming over from France, and securing a table here felt like winning the jackpot as here is always very very busy.

I have been here several times for the Italian food awards finals judging and many other occasions with family and friends. Each time, Bella Vita has delivered an exceptional dining experience, and tonight was no different.

From the moment we stepped inside, we were greeted with warm smiles and a genuine sense of hospitality. My family was immediately taken by the welcoming ambiance and cozy atmosphere, which set the perfect stage for a memorable meal.

The Food

To kick off the culinary journey, we were presented with a delightful appetizer. Picture a very thin, crispy pizza base adorned with a luscious tomato sauce that danced harmoniously on the palate. Regrettably, I was too engrossed in the conversation to snap a picture but trust me, it was a treat for my taste buds.

Soon after, a tempting platter arrived at our table, showcasing an array of mouthwatering delights. A prawn skewer coated in a delightful honey chili glaze, mozzarella bites oozing with cheesy goodness, crispy deep-fried fish cakes that delighted our taste buds, and the star of the show – Pollo Fritto Picanta that was simply heavenly.

Each bite was a delightful explosion of flavors, leaving all of us in awe of the chef’s culinary prowess.

Wanting to save some room for the main course, I decided to skip the starter tonight and went straight for my all-time favorite, the traditional spaghetti carbonara.

Spagetti Carbonara £12.50
Pan-seared diced smoked bacon & onions, finished with double cream, parmesan, black pepper & parsley

I had tasted it before during a previous visit, and it had left an indelible mark on my taste buds. As the dish arrived, it looked visually stunning, and the tantalizing aroma wafting from it had our mouths watering in anticipation.

With the first forkful, I knew I was in for a treat. The creamy, velvety carbonara sauce coated each strand of perfectly cooked spaghetti, creating a symphony of flavors that was nothing short of exceptional. It was a flawless balance of indulgent richness and tantalizing simplicity – a true masterpiece. My taste buds were dancing with joy, and I could not resist awarding it a perfect 10 out of 10.
