Every now and then I take a wee visit to some of my favourite restaurants, as I still have a large list of places I want to try.
Tonight I booked Swadish which is one of my favourites and wanted to try different dishes.

The Food
Prior to arriving I had seen on Swadish’s Instagram a Salmon dish, so I knew what my main would be….but not my starter.
Crispy Kekda £15
Soft-shell crab encrusted with pepper and garlic, pickled papaya and samphire salad, tomato sesame chutney (G SES)

I have had my eye on this dish for a long time, but never ordered it….tonight that changed.
I took the plunge and decided to try this dish.
I was very pleasantly surprised by this dish! I tried the pickled papaya first and mmm very nice, then the chutney which had a lovely taste to it then the crab…
I will start by saying the crab has zero shells, just a crispy coating and once you get through that the meat is lovely and tender.
The combination of everything on the plate was a perfect balance of taste and one I can highly recommend especially if you like crab!

Poached Scottish Salmon £22.00
Coconut milk, curry leaves, turmeric, mild green chilli, ginger (F)

I spotted this dish on Swadish’s Instagram and thought mmm looks good so tonight I had to order it and check it out.
On arrival I loved its presentation, it reminded me of the other fish dish as it also comes with the leaf.
The aroma was very very nice, and I couldn’t wait to plate it up and taste it.
Let’s start with the sauce, it was creamy, great aroma and had a lovely taste to it. The salmon was perfectly cooked, moist and kept its flavour….both together a great combination and mega moreish.
I am so glad again that I tried something different tonight, as this is another dish I would order again.
Unfortunately, my other photos of this didn’t do it justice so that’s why I just the one above.

Blue Cheese Naan £5.50

I normally go for a Peshwari naan but tonight I had to try this blue cheese naan.
Blue cheese is hit-and-miss for some people, some love it and others just 100% hate it…for me, I love it and its flavour.
This was very interesting, the blue cheese stood out when eating this and it was very tasty.
I also used this to clean up some of the sauce from my main dish and again mmm
Peshwari is still my fav but this was also nice.

Forbidden Apple £10.50
Granny Smith apple, white chocolate mousse, apple liquor, chocolate crumble, chocolate sables (G D)

When Swadish added this to the menu, and I saw it on their Instagram I had to get it…and anytime I am in it’s a must to order for me now.
Firstly on arrival you get a great presentation, with the smoke and smell that really sets a great tone.
Next, its colours are amazing, then when you crack it and eat it mmm so so good! perfect for my sweet tooth
I could have loads of these are it’s really tasty and I highly recommend you try this if you haven’t already.
