Cilantro Restaurant (Edinburgh) 2022 : Review

Todays Visit

The guys at Cilantro’s invited me to come and check out their new Indian restaurant, so we set a date and time and I headed straight from work.

Cilantro’s is from the same guys that brought you Bo’ness Spice, which again was very very good so I was really looking forward to this.

Inside is very nice and modern, but it doesn’t have many tables so if you do fancy visiting maybe best call ahead and book a table.

The Food

I had no idea what to order tonight, but I knew I had to order the same starter as I had at Bo’Ness Spice as I really liked it and wanted to see how it was done here….apart from that something random for my main.

Sabzi Pakora £N/A tonight (normally £5.95)
Deep fried balls of gram flour, onions, mixed vegetables & a variety of spices, served with special sauce.

On arrival, this looked really good, and also smelled good so after some photos, I dug right in.

I took a big bite and mmm this pakora was very light, packed with flavour and honestly so so good! it’s possibly one of the best pakora’s I have had.

I then tried it with the dipping sauce, and it worked very well together this sauce was very very nice.

I highly recommend this if you visit and if you do let me know what you thought of the dish.

Shahi Chasni £N/A tonight (normally £10.95)
Chicken kebabs cooked in a delicate sweet & sour sauce with a touch of fresh herbs & spices.

Normally my go-to meal for the first time at a new Indian Restaurant is a Korma but tonight I thought I would break that habit and just randomly pick a dish.

For some reason, this dish stood out for me, and I ordered it with a side of rice.

On arrival this smelled so good, and my mouth started watering instantly.

After a few pics and plating up I dug right in.

This was delicious! it eas perfect for my palate! I loved all its flavour and I am very very happy this is what I randomly chose.

The chicken was very tender, and the sauce was super tasty and mmm really it was so so good!

This is now my new favourite dish! and one I look forward to having again.

Garlic Naan £N/A tonight (normally £4.25)

I got a side of naan and this time opted for Garlic Naan, again a change from my norm.

This had a great garlic smell and was light and fluffy and very very nice.

This was a good side option, warm, fluffy and with a nice garlic flavour…perfect with my meal tonight.

My Rating:

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Visit Overall

Firstly a big thanks to the guys at Cilantro’s for tonight’s invite.

Secondly just because this was an invite, it hasn’t influenced my above review. The above review is 100% my honest opinion of tonight’s visit and meal.

I will be adding here tonight my top spots page, as I can’t fault tonight’s visit and food.

Let me know if you have visited and also what you ordered.
