Visit & Vibes

I’d had Kitchen Coos & Ewes on my massive to-visit list for ages, and I finally got to tick it off!

After booking a date online, I made the short, two-hour drive from Glasgow. The journey didn’t feel long at all, and upon arrival, I was pleased to find a good-sized car park. The weather was spectacular, the sun was out with nearly clear skies, so I knew it was going to be a fun day.

The tour guides came out, introduced themselves, and explained how the tour would work. We were then shown to the trailer we’d be boarding. I loved that it was completely wheelchair accessible, a really thoughtful and inclusive touch.

The Tour

The tour began with an informative introduction to the farm’s land and the local wildlife before we set off to meet the “coos” (highland cattle).

Throughout the tour, our guide provided fascinating insights about the animals.

The trailer stopped several times, allowing the cattle to come right up close, which was perfect for capturing some incredible photographs. It was a truly fun experience, and immensely enjoyable, especially with the glorious weather we had.

Everyone was clearly thrilled; even the youngest children in our group were captivated by the animals.

Once this part of the tour concluded, we were taken back to the starting point, where a lovely spread of cakes and refreshments was waiting for us. There was a great selection of treats, accompanied by a choice of juice, tea, or coffee, a perfect way to round off the trip.

Final Thoughts…

Overall, this was a fantastic experience. I am sure everyone walked away with some amazing photos, and it is a tour I would highly recommend for families, children, and “big kids” at heart!
