Cosmo (Silverburn Shopping Centre, Glasgow) 2025 : Review

Visit & Vibes

I was recently invited along to COSMO, located inside Silverburn Shopping Centre. I’ve visited a few times over the years and always had a great experience, so I was genuinely looking forward to returning.

Tonight’s visit was extra special, though COSMO was celebrating its 11th birthday. With a milestone like that, I knew the atmosphere would be lively, and after a long day, I couldn’t wait to head in and get stuck into some food. I arrived hungry. very hungry.

Inside, COSMO looks just as inviting as I remembered. The restaurant is split into two main areas. On one side, you have the buffet section, packed with different food stations offering a wide range of cuisines, from Chinese and Indian to sushi, teppanyaki-style dishes, and even a selection of European favourites. It’s the kind of place where you spot something new every time you walk past.

The other side is the dining area, bright and comfortable, giving you plenty of space to relax between (many) trips back to the buffet. The whole place had a great birthday buzz, with staff in high spirits and families and friends all enjoying the celebration.

The Food

Buffet Choice★★★★★

After being seated, it was time to head up and grab my starters. The restaurant was packed which, when it comes to a buffet, is something I actually love to see. A busy buffet means dishes aren’t sitting out for long. Everything is constantly being replenished, kept fresh, and full of flavour. You can really taste the difference.

There was a great selection of starters, so I picked a few light bites to begin with. I wanted to save plenty of room for the main dishes and, of course, dessert later on.

Moving onto the mains, I couldn’t resist trying a little bit of everything a mix of Indian, Chinese, and even some sushi. Variety is one of COSMO’s biggest strengths, and tonight it really showed. Everything I tried, both starters and mains, was perfectly cooked, full of flavour, and genuinely delicious. Every plate went back empty.

Then it was time for dessert. I grabbed a couple of slices of cheesecake, but the highlight was something I haven’t done in years: dipping a marshmallow into the chocolate fountain. Instantly transported back to being a kid and yes, I enjoyed every second.

Partway through the evening, the staff gathered to sing “Happy Birthday,” and a few diners joined in. It really lifted the atmosphere and added to the celebratory feel of the night.

Final Thoughts…

Overall, I had a great time returning to COSMO. I enjoyed everything from start to finish starters, mains, and desserts. As I mentioned, the constant flow of customers means the food is continuously refreshed, keeping every dish tasting its best.

Another thing I love about this kind of buffet is how perfect it is for groups or families with mixed tastes. If you’ve got fussy eaters, or if you and your partner can never agree — one craving Italian, the other wanting Indian a place like this is ideal. Everyone gets exactly what they want without compromise.

A massive happy birthday again to the team at COSMO. I wish you continued success, and if you’ve never visited before or didn’t even realise it existed during your trips to Silverburn definitely check it out. I’m sure you’ll thoroughly enjoy it.
