Fun Food Games for Kids & Handy Tools for Adults – A Great Resource Worth Checking Out

Fun and educational for all the family

I often come across great websites that I’d love to share my thoughts on here, but I try to keep things in line with the overall theme of my blog. Thankfully, the one I’m about to mention fits in perfectly.

I recently discovered www.culinaryschools.org and really liked what I saw—so I thought I’d share it with you.

They’ve got a fantastic collection of free, culinary-themed online games designed with kids in mind—but let’s be honest, some of them are great fun for adults too (don’t judge me if you catch me playing one!).

You’ll find everything from fast-paced restaurant simulations to baking and food-stacking games—perfect for giving little ones a playful introduction to how much work actually goes into running a kitchen or food business.

I checked out a few of the games and completely lost track of time! Some of my favourites were:

Play Run Brewery

I was browsing through the games and this one really jumped out at me — I do enjoy my beer, and I’ve done a few brewery tours in the past, so I thought I’d give it a go.

To be honest, it was actually a little tricky. At each stage, you need to set the temperature and switch everything to the right positions for the process to move forward. The great thing is that at the bottom of each stage, there’s a description explaining what’s happening — for example, mashing, boiling, and so on.

I’ll admit, it took me a few tries to complete all eight stages. I kept jumping back and forth to double-check everything was still on and the temperature was set correctly. But I thoroughly enjoyed it. With all the helpful descriptions and being able to see what happens at each part of the process, it’s actually quite educational — especially if you don’t know much about how the brewing process works.

Even if you’re not into beer or breweries, I’d still recommend checking it out. It’s a bit tricky but also really fun, and the graphics are surprisingly good too!

Feed the Grandma and Grandpa

The next game I tried was this one, and as you can see from the pictures above, it’s very colourful — which will definitely catch the attention of any kids playing it.

To start, you choose your character — either Grandma or Grandpa — and then you’re presented with a screen offering three categories: meat, veg, or sweet.

Dishes are then slid in front of either Grandma or Grandpa, and you have to decide which category each dish belongs to. If you get it wrong, they don’t look too happy!

The graphics in this one are also really fun and eye-catching, with bright, vibrant colours throughout. It’s a great little game for kids to learn how to identify which dishes fall into which food group — and it’s enjoyable too!

The Boiled Egg Cooking Game

The next game I played was this one, and I have to admit, it was a bit tricky!

It starts off by showing you how to play. You’re randomly given a specific type of egg, and your pot starts boiling. Eggs then drop into the pot, and you need to boil each one to the correct temperature based on the type you’ve been given.

Once you successfully boil the egg, you move on to the next round — which gets harder each time. In the next round, another pot is added, and you have to keep an eye on both. Each pot may have a different egg with its own ideal boiling time, and it just keeps getting more challenging from there.

Like I said, it took me a few tries to complete it, as I kept missing one and had to start over. You really need to stay focused and keep your eyes on all the pots to make sure each egg is boiled the right way. If you overcook any of them, you’ll fail the round and have to start again.

The Chocolate Shop.

Another game I enjoyed — because it was a bit tricky — was this one.

You work in a shop, and customers come in with orders. It might sound easy, but it’s a really busy shop!

I found the trick was to take a few customer orders at a time, then go and get what they asked for. If you leave them waiting too long, they’ll walk out — which isn’t great for business.

Once you’ve completed an order, the customer leaves money on the counter, and you need to click it to collect it.

Sounds easy? Give it a shot! I ended up spending ages on this one, trying to serve as many customers as possible.

I thought these were a lot of fun! The colours are really eye-catching, the graphics are playful and entertaining, and the sound effects add a lot to the overall experience. Like I said—they’re fun for adults too, so I can imagine kids would enjoy them even more!

You can check out their full game collection here: https://www.culinaryschools.org/kids-games/

Some games are aimed at younger players, while others offer a nice challenge no matter your age as I found out with a few of them.

They’ve also categorised games to make them easier to find—like brain teasers and logic puzzles, arcade-style games, and even sports-themed ones, including basketball and golf.

What I liked most is that it doesn’t feel commercial. There are no annoying pop-up ads mid-game, and the site is super easy to navigate. And if you’ve got kids—or just want to keep your mind sharp—there’s plenty to dive into.

Not Just for Kids: Handy Tools for Home Cooks & Foodies

Beyond the games, this website http://www.culinaryschools.org also offers a bunch of practical tools for adults, particularly if you’re trying to cook more at home or are a bit of a foodie like myself.

One of my favourite discoveries was their Ingredient Conversion Tool—a total lifesaver if you’re jumping between UK and US recipes and wondering why everything is measured in cups. You can check it out here:

This has been a lifesaver when I’ve come across recipes online that use US measurements and needed to convert them to UK measurements.

It’s definitely saved me from ruining a few good dishes! If you’re like me and often search for new recipes to try online, this is one tool worth checking out.

They also provide:

Really useful stuff if you’re trying to stay on top of your health or balance out your love for desserts with a bit of wellness tracking.

Final Thoughts…

As I mentioned, this website is educational for both kids and big kids! It’s really well laid out, the games are bright and eye-catching, and the sound effects add to the fun while also being educational — which I really loved. Your kids will be playing and learning at the same time without even realising it, which is always a bonus.

Definitely check it out — whether it’s for the games, other parts of the site, the weight loss calculator, workout tracker, or anything else that catches your eye. And do let me know what you think! I honestly thought it was great, and that’s exactly why I’m sharing it.
