I was recently invited to the newly opened Alien UFO Burger restaurant in Glasgow city centre. They promised a twist on the usual with everything made 100% fresh, so I decided to take a visit.

The interior is designed with an alien theme, which I found very cool. I appreciated the little attention to detail, as it helped create a unique and interesting atmosphere during my visit.

They also had a few alien-themed items you could purchase, like wristbands and other small souvenirs. After browsing the merchandise, it was time to check out the menu and decide what to order.

Cherry Milkshake £8/£12 (£n/a tonight)

I decided to start with their cherry-flavoured milkshake upon arrival. It looked very appealing, and I was eager to give it a try.

The consistency was spot on, and the flavour was pleasant, though I tasted more vanilla than cherry. I think it just needed to be mixed a bit better, as it seemed like cherry sauce had been added after. Still, it was a very nice and tasty milkshake that complemented the rest of the food I ordered.

Piper Chips £6/£9 (£n/a tonight)

Along with my burger tonight, I opted for the Piper chips, which I was really looking forward to as I was quite hungry. The Piper chips are made from Piper potatoes and described as having a touch of herbs, so they sounded promising.

When they arrived, they looked fantastic, and the portion size was generous. Taking a bite, the fries were perfectly cooked with a nice crispness, and the flavour was spot on.

I could have easily eaten more of these. They tasted great, though I would have preferred them to be a little warmer—perhaps just a personal preference. Overall, they were very tasty, and I enjoyed them from start to finish.

Chicken Burger UFO Style £12/£16/£24 (£n/a tonight)
Fresh Chicken Fillet, Butter & Emmental Cheese. Natural ingredients buns contain spinach and yeast. free-range eggs, vine tomatoes & natural herbs.

I decided to go for a chicken burger tonight, which came with a choice of spice levels. I was asked if I’d like it served the standard way or UFO style. Since I’d never heard of the UFO style and was at an alien-themed burger place, I chose the latter, curious to see what the difference would be.

When it arrived, I opened the box and unwrapped it to find a UFO-saucer-shaped burger. The bun was completely pressed into a saucer shape, something I’d never seen before. I quite liked this idea, as it was very unique.

Now it was time to take a bite, check out the flavours, and see what this UFO burger was like.

The first thing I noticed when I took a bite was the bun. It was lovely and fluffy, with a really nice flavour. This was my first time trying a bun with spinach, and I was pleasantly surprised—it was absolutely delicious and something I could easily enjoy again and again.

Overall, the burger was very nice. The chicken was perfectly cooked, and all the flavours worked well together. I did ask for it to be mildly spiced, but I didn’t detect much of that. However, that could just be me, and I understand they focus more on fresh ingredients rather than overpowering the flavours with too much spice.

As I mentioned, the bun was the standout for me. The spinach added a great flavour, and it was a first for me. All in all, it was a very nice burger.

Biscoff Croffle £6 (£n/a tonight)
Artisan Frosh Baked butter Croffle with biscoff.

I couldn’t end the night without something sweet, and this dessert came highly recommended, so I decided to give it a try. When it arrived, it looked visually appealing, the aroma was enticing, and the portion size was just right for a dessert.

I started with the ice cream, which was creamy with a lovely flavour. Then I moved on to the croffle, which had a fantastic taste and great texture. Combining everything together was a definite win—absolutely delicious.

I highly recommend trying this if you visit. I could have easily had another. It was perfect for my sweet tooth and ended the night on a high note.
