Kilchurn Castle is a ruined structure on a rocky peninsula at the northeastern end of Loch Awe, in Argyll and Bute, Scotland. It was first constructed in the mid-15th century as the base of the Campbells of Glenorchy, who extended both the castle and their territory in the area over the next 150 years
Today I decided to finally check out Kilchurn Castle, it had been on my list for a while and when I drove to Oban I knew I was near it but didn’t have time to stop.
On arrival, the car park is a good size, and the walk to the castle is very short. I am so glad I finally visited and also got a good weather day as the views were stunning.
