Fratelli Restaurant Takeaway (Cambuslang, Glasgow) 2022: Review

The Goodies

BBQ Pizza 12″ + Olives £9.85

Before even opening the pizza box I could smell this and it smelled really good!

Opening the box I saw the pizza and it looked as good as it smelled….so now it was time to taste.

This was very nice and really tasty, my only issue was due to the BBQ sauce (the base layer) the base of the pizza was very soggy so I had to use a knife and fork….I didn’t mind as it was really good!!!

Garlic Ciabatta £3.85

I love a side of garlic bread, so when I saw this on the menu I had to order some.

I think I ordered some last time, but I couldn’t remember how it was.

This was nice, the ciabatta had a nice crispness to it and the garlic was a good amount.

I have to admit I make good garlic bread (see my blogs recipe page) so nowhere will beat mine, but this was very nice.

Biscoff Cheesecake £3.20

I couldn’t not have a little something extra with tonights takeaway.

When I saw this I had to order it as I love anything Biscoff.

This was a very nice cheesecake, the base was tasty and not too thin, the creamy middle was good and the Biscoff was mmmm.

My Rating:

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Overall :

I am glad I ordered again from here as I had a really good meal, and I will be trying other dishes next time I order.

Zizzi (Princes Square, Glasgow) 2021 : Review

The Visit

Tonight I was having dinner with a friend, then heading off to the new Vue cinema to see Rock 4 Directors cut.

The Starter

Garlic Bread £5.45
Brushed with garlic and rosemary.

On arrival this was a big portion, I was expecting something half the size.

It visually looked good, and smelled good and I was hungry so I couldnt wait to try it.

This was really lovely, the texture, taste and flavours all were perfect!

If you visit here, you have to order this!

Main Course

Rigatoni Pesto Rosso £12.25
A creamy sundried tomato pesto and mascarpone sauce with spicy pulled harissa chicken.

I was going to order a pizza, but then spotted this and thought lets give it a try.

This sounded really nice, and with the spicy harissa chicken should have a nice wee kick.

The pasta was cooked perfectly, but flavour wise for me was a little bland. I didn’t get any spiciness to it even a slight kick.

Overall it was ok, but just a little bland.

My Rating:

Rating: 3 out of 5.

When Tiramisu Met Brownie £6.85
Chocolate brownie topped with coffee sponge fingers and mascarpone cream, finished with gold balls and hot chocolate sauce.

From the description I HAD to order this, two things I like brownie and Tiramisu.

Presentation was nice, and I couldn’t wait to dig in.

I tried it on its own without the addition of the chocolate sauce.

It was nice but flavour wise I was getting MUCH more brownie than Tiramisu which was disappointing.

I then tried the chocolate sauce on its own and it had a slight burnt taste to it, due to it being heated up too much…but I poured it over and took a bite.

This was nice with the sauce, but still I missed the Tiramisu flavour .

On paper this sounded great, and very yumm but due to poor execution it should have been more 50/50

My Rating:

Rating: 2 out of 5.

Tonights visit was a bit of a mixed bag, I really loved my starter and my main course was nice just needed a touch more flavour.

My desert was very poor, but as you can see from the photo it is MUCH more brownie than Tiramisu…if this got fixed to 50/50 that would make a massive difference.

Easy Homemade Garlic Bread : Recipe

Making this at home is always going to be better than shop bought, as you can make it the way you want either lots of garlic or not….for me I like a good amount 🙂

Ingredients :

  • Garlic Granules
  • 1 block of salted Butter
  • Baguette

  • Cut 1/3 of the block of butter and put it in a bowl
  • Pour in a ok amount of garlic granules on to the butter and mush together
  • Cut up the baguette into slices
  • Spread your garlic butter on the slices and put in the over for a few minutes till they look ready.
