A very personal experience of being a professional dogsitter has led a Glasgow-based events coordinator to introduce a fun family friendly event for dog lovers which combines a delicious brunch with a canine afternoon tea for your pampered pooch, together with professional photography throughout.
Partnering with Sir Woofchester’s, a company specialising in canine hospitality, “Paws & Brunch” will take place on Saturday, the 20th of June, from 12 noon to 3pm, at El Santo Latin American restaurant in Glasgow’s Merchant City.
Along with the canine afternoon tea, which consists of an iced pupcake, bark bangers, a Paw Star Martini and a Woof Bar, El Santo will provide blankets, water bowls, toys and a comfortable environment for dogs to relax throughout the event.
For the ticket price of £30 per person, those are attending can enjoy any three dishes from El Santo’s Latin inspired tapas menu, plus a glass of Prosecco on arrival, or a soft drink alternative, as well as the doggy afternoon tea.
The second Paws & Brunch to be held at El Santo, the plan is for these to become to become a recurring event held every third Saturday of the month.
Anyone is welcome, including children, and you don’t have to have a dog to attend.
El Santo Events Coordinator, Vira Romashova, who is behind the innovative event, explained that she had identified a gap in the market for events that people can enjoy with their dogs.
“It can be difficult to fully relax when you’re out with a dog, even if you are in a dog friendly venue,” she said.
“You’re often wondering whether your dog is disturbing other guests, whether someone nearby might be uncomfortable around dogs, or whether your dog is actually enjoying the environment.”
“When I joined El Santo, one of my first ideas was to create an event designed specifically for both people and dogs. Rather than simply allowing dogs, Paws & Brunch is built entirely around them. It’s a dedicated space where dog lovers can enjoy a relaxed brunch knowing that everyone around them is there because they love dogs too,” added Vira, who has looked after dogs for nine years, since she was twelve years old.

“We’re really pleased to be partnering with Sir Woofchester’s. Their products are fantastic, and we’re confident that even the fussiest pooch will love their treats.”
