I missed the Tuk Tuk bloggers event which looked really good fun. I did manage to see a few of the Facebook live videos for this night, which made me regret missing it more as they had Bollywood dancing and more.
I finally got round to coming to try Tuk Tuk Glasgow and this is what I thought.
On entering we were greeted and shown to our table, instantly your hit with multicoloured walls and a modern interior. Its got a very modern and relaxed feel to the place.
The voucher was 3 dishes to share between 2, but I miss read it as 3 dishes each…ah well I didn’t mind as we both had a nice time…anyway on to the food.
You are recommended to maybe order 2 to 3 dishes each, as its Indian Tapa style similar to Chaakoo Bombay Cafe

Tonights staff were all very helpful explaining all the different dishes, what they were like and flavours. This I had to ask what a Thumbs Up was

This is a brand of cola in India, so I thought I would give it a try as I have never tried it.
It was ok…
The flavour was similar to Coke over here, but not as nice but pleasant to taste. Closest you could describe it as, maybe like a supermarkets own brand of cola.

I asked the waitress about these and she sold them for me, so I ordered them.
She was right they were really good, a very little spice to them and full of flavour. I would order these again.

Cottage cheese cooked in the wok with sweet and sour sauce
I normally go for normal Paneer but I decided to see what this was like.
It was ok for me, maybe a little too spicy for my taste but was ok. Next time I would stick with the normal one.

Baby potato & cauliflower curry with North Indian tomato gravy
Normally don’t go for dishes like these, but thought first time here lets try new dishes.
I liked this a lot, it was full of flavour not that spicy and was very filling.

LASSIS £3
An Indian take on a smoothie – a blended yoghurt drink served ice-cold and in a choice of fruity flavours.
Flavours Available: Mango, Salted, Lychee, Coconut, Sweet
Anytime I go to an Indian restaurant I always make sure to try a Lassi, normally its the Mango one as that for me is the best.
This was made perfectly, it wasn’t runny like water it wasn’t too thick just the correct consistency and taste was really good.

Overall :
Overall my first visit was a very good visit, the staff and food were really good.
The atmosphere was nice, and I liked that I knew a lot of the Bollywood songs playing in the background. (Kick, Happy New Year, Bang Bang etc..)
I will be going back to Tuk Tuk, as I want to try a few more dishes, so keep watching for my tweets or blog posts.
