About Flexclip

FlexClip is a powerful yet easy-to-use online video editing tool. With its extensive templates and resources, you can easily create high-quality videos!

First Thoughts

The team at FlexClip invited me to check out their platform. I’ve never really used any online video editors for my social media content before. I’ve tried one or two AI-based tools, but I didn’t feel they were very effective or produced content that matched my more human-like design style. That always discouraged me, so I decided to give FlexClip a chance and try something new.

I’ve been wanting to promote my blog posts on TikTok and see if I can drive traffic to my blog, similar to what I’m doing with my other social media platforms. So, I decided to use FlexClip to help me with that.

Once my account was set up, I explored the FlexClip website. At first glance, it was easy to understand and navigate. It reminded me a bit of Canva, but more tailored toward video creation.

The site offers a lot of easy-to-use templates, which I really liked. Some were very cool and visually impressive, while others were simple and basic, making it suitable for a variety of needs. There’s definitely something for everyone if you want to use their templates.

FlexClip also has a few other features I haven’t fully explored yet. You can generate videos from a prompt, an article, or even a URL, which I’m planning to try soon. I’m curious to see how it handles one of my blog posts. It also offers AI text-to-speech, which I tested out. The results sounded quite realistic, so I was impressed. There are a few more features I haven’t had time to explore yet.

These were my initial thoughts after playing around with it. I’m sure there’s a lot more to discover, but I decided to start by creating a simple TikTok promo video using their software. It’s something basic, and something a lot of people might want to try first, so that’s where I began.

I decided to check out FlexClip’s templates to see how easy it was to customize them for what I wanted to do. This is something many beginners would likely start with, rather than trying to create something from scratch, so that’s where I began.

I looked for a simple and effective template and quickly found one. When I opened it, I was taken to the video editor, which offered a lot of resources for customization. You can change the media, adjust the text, reposition elements, change fonts, and more—similar to what you’d expect from other platforms or offline applications.

After spending about 5 to 10 minutes exploring, I figured out where everything was and how to make changes. It was all very easy to use. The only issue I ran into was when I had three images and wanted the text to appear across all three in the exact same position.

This could be something I’m missing or not enabling, but unlike Canva, there’s no ‘snap to position’ feature that shows vertical and horizontal alignment lines when you move elements. So, I had to manually adjust the text to get it lined up across all three images. It took a bit of trial and error, but I managed to do it manually. Having something like a snap-to-grid feature would be a lot more efficient.

When exporting the final video, you’re given several options for quality, size, and other standard settings, which I appreciated. I noticed there was an option to export in 4K, but when I did, it only exported the video and saved the audio separately rather than combining them.

I’m not sure if I missed a setting, so I ended up exporting in 1080p, which saved the video with the audio included.

Final Thoughts…

Overall, I’m quite impressed with FlexClip. It did exactly what I needed it to do. The learning curve was manageable, and after some experimentation, I found it easy to understand and use. As I mentioned, there were a few minor issues during editing, either because I missed something or because certain features could be added, but overall, I liked it. Now, I have a nice video to promote on TikTok when I want to share a blog post.

In terms of pricing, like most online tools, there’s a cost. However, you can start with a free account, which offers limited features but more than enough if you’re just getting started. There’s also a mid-tier option, which is reasonably priced for a video editor, and a higher tier for businesses or people needing more advanced features.

I’m not being paid for this review—they just gave me full access to their platform to try out. I recommend giving it a go by signing up for the free version. If you try it and find any of the features I mentioned, or have tips to share, feel free to reach out—it would be great to exchange insights!

Check my TikTok account to see the videos I created with this, once I master more I will try a few other videos so keep watching.
