Visit & Vibes

I was recently invited back to Chickaros Glasgow for their second birthday, and I was really looking forward to it as I had enjoyed the food on my previous visits. However, this time they truly outdid themselves compared to my last two experiences.

The interior was just as it was before—nice, cozy, and very bright, making it great for photos. The staff were extremely helpful, pleasant, and a pleasure to chat with again.

The Food

Since my last visit, they have updated the menu, offering an amazing variety, so you’re sure to find something that stands out. For my starter, I decided to try something new they recently added, and I had to check it out as soon as I arrived. The aroma hit me instantly, and the presentation was just as impressive.

With my first bite, I was blown away. The sauce was lovely, with a slight kick that was just perfect, complementing the flavours without overpowering what was inside the bun. The meat was perfectly cooked, and everything inside was packed with flavour. The combination was outstanding, and I could have easily eaten more—it was that good! This is a dish I’ll be ordering again on my next visit, as I enjoyed it.

This starter set the bar high for the rest of my meal. The flavour was amazing, and honestly, it was one of the best starters I’ve had here. Everything was 100% better than my last visit, especially in terms of flavour, and as I mentioned, I could have easily eaten many more of these.

Cooked in a succulent balanced medium flavour sauce with added onions and peppers. Served with Rice or Naan

I couldn’t quite remember what I had during my last visit for my main, but I’m sure on my very first visit I had a burger. This time, I wanted to try something completely different, and I noticed they had several curry options. I was torn between two, but I finally opted for this one.

When it arrived, the presentation was nice, but it was the aroma coming from the curry that really got me excited to try it.

– I was asked if I wanted rice or naan, and I chose rice.

As I plated it up, my mouth was watering—the aroma was incredible, and I was eager to dig in.

For my first bite, I tried the curry on its own with a piece of chicken. The chicken was perfectly cooked, and the sauce—wow! Just like with the starter, the flavour was outstanding. I asked for mild, and it was perfect, complementing the chicken beautifully.

Once again, the flavour of this dish far exceeded any of the others I’ve had here in the past. They’ve really outdone themselves this time. In the past, the flavours were just okay, but today, everything has been outstanding.

Midnight Mint Pot (£n/a tonight normally £5.95)

It was time for dessert, and they’ve got a brand-new dessert menu. There were so many items I wanted to try, but I was quite full. Normally, I would’ve gone for the cookie dough, but I spotted something called the ‘Midnight Mint Pot’ and decided to go for that.

When it arrived, the presentation was very nice, and I couldn’t wait to dig in.

It turned out to be really good. The ice cream was mint-flavoured, and although it was simply mint ice cream in a pot, the flavour was lovely—creamy and refreshing. Mixing it with the sauce and cream made it even more enjoyable. It was a tasty way to end a great evening.

Final Thoughts…

First of all, a big thanks to the team for inviting me again—it was great to see them and catch up with some familiar faces.

Today’s visit really surprised me. As I mentioned before, the food here was always nice, nothing wrong with it, just nice. But today’s food was on a whole other level. Every dish was bursting with amazing flavours—so much tastier than my previous visits. Huge compliments to the chefs tonight!

Overall, I had a fantastic evening with incredible food, and now I can’t wait to return.
