This for me is a hard review, to be honest, I have never had there on my list to visit as I am not a big meat person or steak person….but tonight I visited to see what it was like.

IMG_0999.jpg

Inside it was a lot bigger than it looked, and very open which I liked so I knew I wouldn’t be too close to the table next to me.

Tonight one of us had an ItIsOn, and I just went off the menu. I opted for the Rodizio Especial £18.95 (as was after 5pm)IMG_0997.jpg

So basically the idea is, from start to finish a waiter comes round the table and gives you a slice of something…..that something depends on what menu you opt to choose so it could be steak, lamb, chicken etc…

I didn’t take any photos as the presentation is not something you look for here, as its just slices of meat etc on your plate.

What meats etc I did try were nice, but I left with the same thought as I went in with…its a good restaurant for someone who is a big meat eater but for me….this style is not for me.

Don’t let my review put you off going, as I said this is my opinion and you could go and love it…so do please give them a shot and see if its something you like.

Brunch at MAYZE Coffees & Food (West End, Glasgow) : Review

974 Argyle Street
Glasgow G3 8LU

V: 17th February 2019.    W: facebook.com/mayzefinnieston

Today I was very undecided where to go for brunch, so I walked along Argyle Street and passed many places. There was a few that I wanted to go into but, I decided to try here as I saw a woman having something to eat and it looked very good.

Looking Around

Inside is an ok size, but it’s very popular so a few people who looked in passed by which is a shame…hopefully they returned.

Inside for me was ok, a little plane and just needed some more colour to give it more of a warmer feel.

The Food…

So looking at the menu it was all very healthy and more importantly for some people Vegan-friendly.

I asked opted for the French Toast, which is what that lady was having.

French Toast £7.50

homemade cinnamon brioche, stewed apples, custard and crumble

Now as you can see from the above photo, this is why I had to try this today look how good it looks!!!!

I asked before ordering what the crumble was and if it contained nuts, as I can’t do nuts but it didn’t which I was very happy about as I could order this the way it should be.

First bite….and the other bits were very very good!!!

Overall

Overall my first visit was good, I do have two issues but due to the food being good I can easily forgive them.

First I did have to wait a while for the order to arrive, but they were making the custard fresh so I can forgive the wait.

The second one, looking at the table tops mine and around me they could do with either a good clean or a fresh coat of paint….or both….

I am planning on going back as I want to try the Eggs Benedict as that also looked very good.

I have visited here before and really had a nice time with nice food…but the one thing I never really tried was a few of their pizza’s so tonight was time to try one.

The Food…

Pizza

Pancetta e Mozzarella £11.00

Normally I have a tomato based pizza but this sounded nice, and something different to my normal pizzas.

I was very surprised how nice this was, the flavours were really good but the pesto just set it off for me.

The base was nice and thin, and flavours really good I am very glad I tried this.
