Another year, another reason to celebrate at Bella Another year, another reason to celebrate at Bella Vita! We headed back to our absolute favorite Italian spot, this time for my dad’s birthday. As always, the food was incredible and it was so good catching up with the lovely team there, they truly treat us like family. FUSILLI CONTADINA (£14.00) Pasta twists with chargrilled peppers, onions, mushrooms & fresh tomatoes, finished with cream & basil. I decided to step out of my comfort zone tonight! I usually play it safe with my go-to pizza or a rich carbonara, but I wanted to try something fresh off the menu. The moment it hit the table, the aroma had me sold. It looked so stunning I barely had the patience to snap a quick photo before diving in! That first bite was absolute heaven, perfectly al dente pasta packed with incredible depth. The sweetness of the chargrilled peppers and fresh tomatoes paired ridiculously well with the earthy mushrooms and that silky, basil-infused cream sauce. 10/10, would definitely order this again! Stepping out of my comfort zone paid off, the Tawa Stepping out of my comfort zone paid off, the Tawa Keema at @dawat_grillkarahi (recommended by the staff!) was incredible. Rich, intensely seasoned mince topped with fresh coriander and ginger for the perfect kick. The portion size is massive, I thought one naan wouldn’t be enough, but I hit a food coma wall halfway through! Paired with a warm, freshly baked naan, every bite hit the spot. Even with a bit too much coriander for my personal taste, it was far too delicious to leave behind, so the rest definitely came home with me. #invite! The Fish Pakora at @dawat_grillkarahi is an absolute 10/10. The portion size was super generous, honestly a meal on its own, even with my mains still to come! Paired with a fresh, crisp salad and a sweet chilli dip that tied the whole plate together seamlessly. Hands down a must-order, and 100% something I’ll be craving again. Moving into the main courses, this dish delivers pure comfort with a refined twist. The base uses tender chicken thigh rather than breast, ensuring the meat stays incredibly juicy and infused with a distinct wood-smoke aroma. It swims in a rich gravy that strikes a perfect balance of flavour. Served piping hot in a rustic fluted bowl, the dish visualizes everything you want in comforting Indian dining, glowing warm tones and a fantastic aroma. It takes a familiar favourite and executes it with absolute perfection, making it an essential order for anyone seeking rich, comforting flavour profiles. Yip, I know I ordered this last visit, but it had Yip, I know I ordered this last visit, but it had been a while and it’s my favourite as it stands head and shoulders above the rest: the Crispy Kekda. It’s the undisputed favourite and an absolute standout starter. The star of the plate is the soft-shell crab, fried to a golden, shatteringly crisp perfection while retaining sweet, tender seafood richness inside. It’s boldly seasoned with a punchy kick of cracked black pepper and garlic that coats every bite, making it mega tasty. What elevates the dish from great to extraordinary, though, is the brilliant play on textures and accompanying flavours, the yellow pickled papaya and delicate fronds of samphire cut straight through the rich fried coating, delivering a snappy, refreshing acidity and a touch of aromatic fennel. If you only order one starter here, make it this one... it’s nearly impossible to beat! Celebrated a friend’s birthday at @swadishbyajaykumar and the food was top tier as always. HOT HONEY FRIED CHICKEN, CHEESE & SESAME LOADED FR HOT HONEY FRIED CHICKEN, CHEESE & SESAME LOADED FRIES AT @street_food_bistro #invite Opened up the next takeaway box to be greeted by another absolutely massive portion, this time, it was the Hot Honey Chicken, Cheese & Sesame Loaded Fries. After snapping some quick photos, I couldn’t wait any longer because the aroma was incredible. I made sure to get a perfect mix of the chicken, fries, and mayonnaise all in one bite, and let me tell you… it was deeply flavorful. The chicken itself was perfectly cooked, lovely and tender, but the star here is the flavour combo. The chicken has a wonderful kick from the hot honey, while the creamy garlic mayonnaise balances out the heat brilliantly. A seriously fantastic pairing! This is a genuinely delicious, exceptionally tasty dish. It’s also very hearty and filling! I’d definitely recommend tackling it all by yourself only if you have a big appetite, otherwise, this is a perfect one for sharing! From the moment you pick one up, that extra-textured, golden-brown coating gives a clear promise of a good crunch, and it does not disappoint. Beneath that perfectly crispy exterior, the chicken stays remarkably juicy, tender, and seasoned to absolute perfection.
