I have been to Barca (Glasgow) many times now, and every time I have never had a bad experience or had bad food.

Barca is situated inside Princes Square, which for me is a really lovely location and a very relaxing one. If you have never visited, even just pop in and take a walk about and maybe try a restaurant or two.

Today I was having a catch up with a friend I have not seen in a long time, and he selected Spanish as the theme and I chose here.

I wasn’t too hungry today, so this place was perfect.

The Food…

I wanted to try something different to what I would normally have today, so I opted for this dish.
This was really nice and worked well with my second dish!!
The flavors were nice, the potatoes were soft and melted in your mouth its was really good and when I mixed it with my second dish WOW amazing.

I LOVE chorizo and I had to try this and see how Barca do it, and I am so so glad I did as this was AMAZING!!!

The flavour was full on, the sauce was so good the whole dish was perfect and as I said above when I mixed it with that dish it was mmmmm

Again another perfect little visit to Barca, food, drink and atmosphere was 100%

I spotted a few other dishes I would like to try, so will aim to have them next time.

Afternoon Tea at Cup (Merchant City, Glasgow) : Review

43 Virginia Street
Unit 4, Virginia Court
Merchant City, Glasgow
G1 1TN

T: 0141 553 2326

Visit Date : 3rd January 2017

This location has been many things since the start of 2016, the last I heard it was a lobster restaurant which I wanted to try but it didn’t last. Now its Cup/Gin71 and this seems to be doing a lot better than any previous attempts here.

I like the occasional afternoon tea, so when I see that there is a deal on I will more than likely purchase it. This deal was for a special Afternoon Tea Experience, and was on 5pm. The deal was £22.50 for 1 or for two just add another £1 so I did.

Cup/Gin71 have done up the location very nice, this little lane is a very nice location. I have only ever tried one Cup branch and it was very nice, so I was looking forward to seeing how this location compared to the other one.

Festive Afternoon Tea Experience

Drinks :

  • Glass of mulled wine
  • Cappuccino (or a tea)

Amuse Bouche :

  • Scotch Broth

This was very nice, it was presented in a small cup about the size of an espresso sized cup. It was very nice to taste, and due to the size of the Afternoon Tea I am glad it was this small size.

  • Salmon Mousse Crostini
  • Chicken Liver Pate on Oatcake
  • Safe and Onion Scone with turkey and cranberry filling
  • Ham Hough and Ginger Mustard Croissant

  • Apple & Cinnamon
  • Plain

  • Lemon and Gingernut Cheesecake
  • Julian Plumart Macaron
  • Fig Orange Cupcake
  • Warn Mince Pie
  • Meringue Nest with Cinnamon Cream Filling

Overall :

This was a very nice afternoon tea, and I loved the little soup at the start. Everything was presented very nice, and everything was very tasty and it was very filling.

If the other afternoon tea’s are up to the same standard as this, then this will now be in my top 3 places for Afternoon Tea.

Not in any order!!
