FoodHUB App Aroma Chinese Takeaway (Cambuslang, Glasgow) : Review

GIFTED

The guys over at FoodHub asked if I would like another nice wee takeaway and to do a review.

If you dont know this is the second time I have worked with Foodhub and you can read my first review HERE

This time I was in Cambuslang rather than the West End of Glasgow, so I got to try one from this area.

Looking Around The App

The App and takeaway

I got a discount code from FoodHub, and now it was time to decide where and what to order….this was a hard decision.

I ended ordering from a Chinese restaurant called Aroma Hut Chinese Takeaway, I have never ordered from here but the menu looked good.

Just like the last time using the app was mega simple, it was really easy to use and navigate.

The food

Chicken Maryland

This was ordered as my parents love this, I tried a little of each item and everything was very nice and very fresh.

My parents said it was one of the best they had tasted, and it was very fresh.

This one was for me, this is a big fav of mine so I thought lets see how here does it and compare.

Firstly the egg fried rice was cooked perfect and had a great taste.

The Crispy Shredded chicken was REALLY GOOD!!!! and now in my top 2 for takeaways! the flavour was amazing, and it was so good I have ordered this again since this first order.

Kind prawn with green pepper in black bean sauce⠀⠀

This is one of my dads favs, so I got to try a little.

Again the egg fried rice was really good, so now on to the black bean part

Wow this had a really good flavour, and combined with the prawn and rice it was really nice…This is a dish I would order when I felt like a change.

Overall :

Note : Just because this was gifted, that has not influenced my thoughts in any way. The above is a 100% honest review of the app, and the food.

Just like the previous time I used FoodHub the whole process was easy, simple and no learning curve needed. The other part was I liked is that Foodhub doesn’t take commission, which means it’s a better deal for the takeaway and for us the consumers, as Foodhub is on average 15% cheaper than the rest!

The food was really good, and now is one of two of my top local takeaways….well when I come to Cambuslang.

Download the Foodhub app now and check it out 🙂 The foodhub app is available for Android and IOS so check out your app store now.

Steak and Cherry Restaurant Takeaway via FoodHub (Glasgow) : Review

Partially Gifted

Recently the guys over at FoodHub.co.uk gave me £20 to spend on their app, and to take a journey with it from downloading to ordering and see what I thought.

The reason it says Partially gifted is I spent more than £20 that night, so I paid for the difference.

The Restaurant

Steak and Cherry have been on my list to visit for a while (my list keeps growing), and when I spotted it on FoodHub I thought yeah lets order tonights takeaway from them.

The Food

Now this was the hard part as I saw so many dishes I would love to order, but I wanted to be good and just get two mains and two sides.

Next time I order or visit I will try the other dishes that jumped out at me.

Steak and cherry legendary burger

STEAK AND CHERRY LEGENDARY BURGER £12.95
This also comes with a side of home made chips

When I ordered this I didnt spot the small text that said it came with homemade chips, I guess I was too hungry and just was focusing more on what I wanted to order.

This was a big burger, and looked and smelled good….so now it was time to dig in.

This was a big bite, the flavours of the beef, bacon, cheese and onion rings was nice and worked well.

Side :

Sweet Potato Fries £4.75

Sweet Potato Fries are starting to become my new norm for fries when I am out, so I had to order then from here to see how they did them.

These were nice and crispy, and had a really good flavour.

Steak and Cherry Bang Bang Chicken Burger

STEAK AND CHERRY BANG BANG CHICKEN BURGER £11.95

My Fiancee ordered this but I had to have a bite or two, so I could do a little review of this to plus just in case it could be one I would order next time.

For me this had much more flavour than my burger, plus is also had a nice little kick to it…I could have had more bites but I couldn’t do that as I did order the burger for me.

more Sides

CURLY FRIES £4.25

These were the sides for the chicken burger (again we both failed to notice they came with house fries), and had a really good taste and just the right amount of crispness to them.

  • Flavour : 5
  • Value For Money : 5
  • Overall : 5

Mocktail

Cherry Mocktail £3.95

I wanted to get a little extra, but I didn’t see any desserts so I opted for a sweet mocktail.

This was really nice and refreshing and the cherry flavour was spot on.

Takeaway Overall :

Tonights takeaway from placing the order on Foodhub, to it arriving and was flawless.

The food we got was very nice and mega filling, for me tonights favs were the chicken burger and both sides of fries. The burger was nice, but I think the flavour of the chicken burger hit the spot for me instead.

FoodHub App & Order : Review

GIFTED

The guys over at Foodhub.co.uk sent me £20 to have a wee treat and check out their app.

I have posted my journey from opening the app to the food arriving on my Instagram, if you missed follow me for any future stories etc I might do.

About Them

What I learned was that when you place an order on the other food delivery apps, they actually take a % of commission. This means the restaurant looses out on its profit, which I never knew this till I looked into FoodHub.

Foodhub is an online food website and app launched in 2017. There are more than 12,000 takeaways currently featured online at foodhub.co.uk and through the apps available for iOS and Android.

Foodhub doesn’t take commission, which means it’s a better deal for the takeaway and for us the consumers, as Foodhub is on average 15% cheaper than the rest! For example, JustEat is the UK’s biggest competitor and their takeaway app takes a commission from the restaurant as well as charges customers an admin fee! In 2018 “Just Eat enraged its customers by introducing a 50p cost on all orders”, according to the report on YummyTasteFood. This usually means takeaways are priced higher for hungry customers on JustEat than FoodHub.

This is a really good way to work!

The App

I have an iPhone so I downloaded the app via the appstore, but you can get the app from the Android store to or just visit their website.

As you can see from the above images, its layout and looks is similar to the other delivery apps so its mega easy to navigate and find what your looking for since you have probably been used to the other apps.

The Restaurant Choice

Just like the other apps you may have used, this is exactly the same it depends on your area and the times they open for delivery. It also depends if your local restaurants have joined the FoodHub experience.

FoodHub currently have more than 12,000 takeaways on its app so I am sure you will find something to tickle your tastebuds.

For me I wanted to try a restaurant thats been on my hit list for a while, and I choose Steak & Cherry.

As you can see the layout is very similar to the other apps, and I just hit “ADD” whenever I spotted something that tickled my tastebuds.

As you can see from the above screen, I paid and this is what I was shown. The top right corner was a 30min countdown, I took that as 30mins till its cooked but I was very wrong. 30mins later my door went and the food was handed to me, WOW very fast and great service.

The Food :

I ordered from a local Glasgow based restaurant Steak and Cherry, which is a restaurant that was on my ever growing “to visit” list.

I ordered one chicken burger and one beef burger.

The service, and food was really good and we enjoyed it very much.

We got a side of Sweet Potato Fries, and Curly Fries….but something I failed to spot was the burgers actually came with normal fries so we had LOADS of fries 🙂

I will be doing a full review of Steak and Cherry soon, so keep a look out for that.

Service Overall :

Note : Just because this was gifted, that has not influenced my thoughts in any way. The above is a 100% honest review of the service from FoodHub, and the food from the restaurant.

From downloading the app to placing the order, it was a very smooth process. There was zero learning curve, as it had a similar layout to the other food apps so in a few seconds I knew what to do.

As I said at the start of this post, Foodhub doesn’t take commission, which means it’s a better deal for the takeaway and for us the consumers which I think is a great platform…as its a win win situation.

I have zero hesitation to recommending this app, its easy to use and a win win situation for restaurants and you.

Please check them out either via the website or your app store.
