Visit Date : Saturday 7th January 2017

I have heard many people talk about Paesano Pizza, from friends to bloggers and they all said I had to visit.

I finally got around to a little visit.

I tried calling up Paesano Pizza and booking a table, to be told that they don’t take bookings. You just turn up and wait, but the wait length of time is not that long. This was a first for me and wondered why they would do this but once arriving I could see they don’t need to as there is always people waiting for a table.

On arrival, we were behind a good amount of people, but we decided to wait and see how long it would be before we were seated. It only took about 5 to 10mins and then we had our table.

The Pizza :

The pizza I ordered was number 7 on the menu. £8.00

My pizza had fresh Tuscan sausage with tomato sugo, mozzarella, and evoo (extra virgin oil). I added Olives to my pizza as an extra, and you can also do this if you want something else on your order.

Firstly it looks very nice and perfectly cooked.

This for me was a very very good pizza, the base was nice and thin and the crust was perfect. Flavour and taste were very good.

Dessert :

Affogato £4.00

img_4440

“An Affogato is a coffee-based dessert. It usually takes the form of a scoop of vanilla gelato or ice cream topped with a shot of hot espresso.”

This was very nice but one thing I did notice was the espresso was not hot, but I didn’t mind as it was still very very nice.

Visit Overall :

Overall my first visit was very good, if you’re looking for a nice pizza then here is the place for you.

I would go back here anytime I fancied having pizza.

Event Date : Wednesday 14th December 2016

I was recently lucky to be invited to Glasgow’s new restaurants, I had seen a lot of promotion for Revolution de Cuba on Facebook and Twitter so I was looking forward to trying it and now with this invite, I get to see it first.

When I got invited I was asked for my address so they could send the personal invite out, I had forgotten about this till I came home from work and saw I had a small package. My first thought was “what have I ordered on Amazon” and then I opened it.

This was the invite, a biscuit! For me, this was a really nice touch and a tasty touch. Going by what I have read and heard from other bloggers, I have never heard of a biscuit invite. As you can see it’s very detailed, and very cool looking…. It was gone that day 🙂

Event Details :

The invite mentioned

  • Cocktails
  • Canapés
  • Christmas gift-making from the development chef
  • Rum club

To me, this sounded like a nicely planned evening.

The Pre-Launch night :

I am the type of person that always prefers to be early than leave last minute and be late. I was the first to arrive, so this gave me a perfect opportunity to take a look and take some photos.

I was welcomed and shown to a long table, where the night would start. I was then brought a welcome cocktail, and this was very nice I could have had a second.

img_4118

Slowly more people started to turn up and sit next to me, I finally got to meet Amy from Amy’s Food Blog @_Dont_Byrne_It_ just like our chats via Twitter Amy is a lovely girl and I look forward to meeting her again. At the table, we all introduced ourselves and added on Twitter/Instagram etc. and followed back.

The staff then brought over some table nibbles, and all of it was very nice and went down a treat.

Halfway through the nibbles, our table was asked to go over to another one for the gift-making part.

Gift Making :

On arrival at the table, we had a small jar in front of us, and there were several containers with different things inside them….we were soon to learn what each container held.

img_4068

Each container held different spices that when combined made a really nice rub to put on the meat.

img_4067

This was interesting and fun to mix the spices, and another nice little touch allowed us to take a little off tonight away with us.

Once everyone mixed their own spice, we then headed over to another area to do the Rum Club.

img_4084

The Rum Club :

Most of you that know me, or follow me on Twitter know I go to a monthly rum club so I was interested in how this part would be.

The rums tonight were :

  • Kraken Black Spiced
  • Diplomatico (Reserva Exclusiva)
  • Wood’s Old Navy
  • El Dorado 12
  • Bacardi 8
  • Wray & Nephew

img_4094

Two members of staff were hosting this part, and let everyone have a small sample taste of each rum.

img_4090

This was a nice touch and introduced different rums to the group I was with, for me I would have liked a little more detail about each rum but I think due to time constraints this was why it was just a little info.

Food Time :

This one the main part for me that I was looking forward to, as I like to try new places and new food styles.

We were all spoiled from start to finish, even with the food. An empty table turned into a fully covered table.

I can’t fault any of the food that was served to us, everything was full of flavour and very nice.

I decided I HAD to try a cocktail from their list, to compare it and I spotted my favourite “Pornstar Martini”. This for me is my main favourite as I have had this drink many many times in 2016, so it was now time to try it here.

img_4105

The prosecco shot was fine, you can’t really go wrong with this. Now for the martini, well…I was very disappointed. The flavours of this were very tangy and citrusy, unlike the other ones I have had that have been nice and smooth this wasn’t.

Previous ones have tasted like the old drink “Um Bongo”. For me, this didn’t work, but for someone else, it might depend on what they like.

Overall :

Overall the event was a great success, everyone I spoke to loved it and had fun. We all made new friends and enjoyed it from start to finish. Also would like to thank Valentina, our waitress as she was very pleasant and helpful.

The group of girls I got chatting with were all really lovely, I had a great time and the laughs and chats made it extra special. I look forward to meeting them again in the future.

Will I go back? yes, if it’s anything like tonight then I looks forward to going back and even being there when there is live music.

I would like to thank Revolution de Cuba for this invite, and for all the wonderful food and drinks tonight and I will see you soon again 🙂

Overall : 4/5

Visit Date : 9 December 2016

Recently due to my blogging, I have made two new friends, if you follow any food blogs or travel blogs you may have heard of them

Emma Eats : twitter.com/EmmaEatsUK

Weekends With Wendy : twitter.com/WendyAndrew_

I have had the pleasure of meeting both of them twice now, and they are very lovely and nice girls. Please follow them on Twitter and read their blogs, they have taught me a lot since I started and I look forward to my next meeting with them.

So the three of us decided to go to Chaakoo as I have praised it so much, and also Emma did a quick visit not that long ago but wanted to go back.

Feel free to check my previous posts on Chaakoo here

During the past view visits the manager kept in touch with me via Twitter and said next visit he would like to come and meet me so I told him the three of us were going.

If you have been reading my posts, I am trying very hard when I return to a restaurant not to order the same thing or things. Did I do it this night……..kind of 🙂

On entering, I was welcomed and shown to my table, and Annie came over to see if I would like to drink anything. Again Annie was very friendly, and it was nice to see a familiar face 🙂

Tonight’s Dishes :

KOFTA CURRY £5.50
Iranian kofta meatballs in our cafe curry sauce.

This seems to be one of my two fav dishes, as I had to get it again. The meatballs are cooked perfectly and have a nice little kick to them, the sauce just adds more flavour to give an amazing mix in taste.

SAAG PANEER £5.95 (V)
A classic jalfrezi dish of spiced spinach, studded with cubes of creamy fried paneer cheese.

This is one of my friend’s favourite dishes and I have never tried it here, so tonight I thought I would give it a shot to see what it’s like.

I had tried Paneer at another Indian restaurant, and I felt its flavours were bland.

I would describe this as a curried cottage cheese, that’s as close as a description I can give you if you haven’t tried it before.

This is very nice, normally I am not into vegetarian dishes but I would have this again. The flavour was really good!!.

SHAKAHARI £3.95
(V) Crispy fried vegetable pakora.

If you have had vegetable pakora then you can’t go wrong with it, this was very tasty and the sauce add a nice little kick.

Denny the manager came out to see us, and I finally got to meet him. You can’t not but love him, he is passionate, friendly and a really nice guy. He spoke to us about the food, himself and the decor.

Denny then asked if would like to try a cocktail, and he would surprise us with three. As you know I am a big fan of cocktails, so I was looking forward to them. On his return he said these were his three favourite cocktails, the one I choose was :

MIRCH & CHOKALET
Cocchi Torino, Arbikie chilli vodka, fresh orange, nutmeg, egg white
— Sweet with subtle spice and the texture of a cloud

This is a really nice cocktail and one I could have many off. I would like to thank Denny for this cocktail 🙂

Overall :

Another faultless visit, the food was amazing as always and the service was really good.

I am already looking forward to my next visit, if you have not tried this place out yet what are you waiting for you will love it.

I would like to take this time to thank Denny personally, as he was kind enough to give us a discount on our meal plus the cocktail which was not needed but very much appreciated and very kind….so thank you Denny for tonight 🙂 and it was great to finally meet you in person 🙂

5 Stars just like the last visits 🙂
