

Returning to the chef team at the Dalmore Inn, after previously working there for eight years, Christine Garrow is the new Pastry Chef at the popular Blairgowrie Restaurant.
A chef with fifteen years’ experience, Christine, who is from Blairgowrie, specialises in desserts, saying that her own sweet tooth fuels her inspiration.
Since coming back to Dalmore Inn three months ago, she’s impressed diners with a number of different Daily Specials, most recently her take on a Tunnock’s teacake, a buttery shortbread biscuit base, raspberry jam, and homemade marshmallow with chocolate ganache on top.
“I’m really enjoying being back at The Dalmore Inn,” she said. “It’s fun to be back in the kitchen with Iain, Callum and Alex.”
“I feel a dessert really finishes off a meal with style. Customers’ expectations are always high. We don’t want to disappoint them, as it’s a real treat. I was really pleased with how my teacake special turned out, and have lots of other ideas for delicious desserts & confections,” added Christine, who went on to say that, for her “success is all about maintaining high standards every day and supporting my team in any way I can. My goal is to keep our customers happy while fostering a positive, energetic kitchen environment where we all enjoy working together.”
Explaining that she doesn’t stick to just one country’s cuisine, Christine really loves working with sweets and fresh fruits.
“I like taking whatever fruit is in season, like strawberries in the summer or apples in the autumn, and turning them into great desserts. One day I might make a classic fruit tart, and the next day I might make a light, refreshing tropical dessert!”
Outside of work, Christine has two Romanian rescue dogs that keep her busy on days off.
“I love being outdoors, especially camping when the weather is great. I’ve already been to Steall Falls, Glen Nevis this year in my tent!”
Commenting on Christine re-joining the team at Dalmore Inn, Head Chef, Iain Naysmith said: “Christine is a very talented pastry chef with limitless ideas. Alongside our regular menus, we have Daily Specials which will always include desserts, so it’s fantastic to have somebody with her confidence and imagination on board. She is a great addition to the team!”
The Dalmore Inn has a new menu launching Friday, the 12th of June.
