My Journey into Italian Music (Part 1)

I have done Romanian music and Bollywood music, so now its time for Italian music.

I have visited Italy since I was 6 months old every year till around my early 30’s, not because of family because my parents loved Italy and I fell in love with it to.

It was basically a home from home for me, as soon as the plane landed and I got to the hotel I was instantly relaxed.

While I was there walking up and down past the shops and restaurants I heard a lot of new music, and I knew I had to learn what these tunes were called as they were very cool….and I didnt care they were sung in Italian the tune was very cool.

I started getting into Italian dance with a CD called “DJ Parade” which had great mixes of the popular dance tracks at that point and thats what started it all.

Here are a few favs that stand out and I listen to on a regular basis, check out the artist to hear more of their tunes.

This is a new edition to my music collection, and a more recent track to hit the charts.

Mario Biondi – This Is What You Are

I first heard this when I visited Florence, I was sitting in a restaurant finishing my meal and it came on and that was me. His voice is amazing, the song is very catchy and Ive now seen him live and he is really good live to.

Tiziano Ferro – Lento/Veloce

I cant remember what song it was that I heard that got me into Tiziano Ferro, but it was his voice and the tune. For me when Tiziano does more upbeat songs I prefer them to his slow ones…but thats a personal thing.

Again for me the more up tempo songs are the ones that catch me.

Annalisa – Per Una Notte O Per Sempre

I dont know what it is with this song, voice? the progression? I have loved this since it came out.

Danijay feat. Hellen – Il gioco dell’amore

As I mentioned at the start I got into Italian dance music, and this was one of the songs that I have loved and still play mega loud in my car.

Francesco Gabbani occidentali’s karma

Another more recent add to my music collection.

Edge of Universe feat Dominick – Afterlife

Another from my DJ Parade days ๐Ÿ™‚

I love her voice and the melody of this track.

Modร  – Sono giร  solo

I remember sitting in a cafe at night in 2010, sipping an iced coffee watching the people go by and this came on on the TV behind me and I was hooked. Unfortunately for me this is their best hit, the others are just so so…I still play this mega loud in my car ๐Ÿ™‚

Stay tuned for part 2 which will be posted very soon.

Ciao for now
