Swadish Indian Restaurant (Merchant City, Glasgow) 2021 : Review

V: 31st December 2021

The Visit :

It was a very last-minute decision as my parents wanted to go out for dinner and they didn’t book anywhere, so I messaged Swadish and was lucky they had a table free.

Starter

Hot Cauliflower Wings (Vegan) £6.50
Crispy Cauliflower with Tandoori Spices, Lime and Chilli Sauce, Coriander Chutney

I am not normally a Cauliflower fan, it’s probably one of the last things I would order but a friend was here the night before and had this and said it was really good…so I ordered it.

I didn’t actually look at the small print and tried a good amount of the darker sauce and WOW it blew my head off….so once that calmed down I dug right in.

These were really nice, I was very surprised (remember I am not a cauliflower person) and I enjoyed them very much. They had a lovely flavour and a really nice crisp to them.

My Rating:

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Main

Salmon Tikka £10
Roasted Salmon marinated with Lime, Paprika, Tandoori spices, Lime Leaf Sauce, Mint and Coriander Chutney, Beetroot Dressing. and a hint of sweetness. Onions and coconut

I wanted to try something different tonight, and this cause my eye.

On arrival, the presentation was really good and defiantly Instagramable!

Visually looked really good, and it also smelled really good….so it was time to dig in.

Wow, this was very tender, no bones and packed with a lovely flavour. I could have easily had another plate of this that’s how good it was.

Warm Gulab Jamun £6.00
Sweet spongy balls made of milk, topped with berry compote

Woohoo, I had room to have this, and Gulab Jamun is one of my favourite Indian sweets more so warm.

It was yummy, soft, sweet and so so good!!!

This is another dish I could have easily had more of.

Overall:

It was nice to be back at Swadish, and it was a love New Years eve meal.

As always the food, presentation and flavours are 10/10 and we all had a fantastic meal.

V: 12th Septemeber 2021

The Visit :

My dad has had a tough few days, and always said he would like to visit Swadish as he loved the look of all the photos ive taken from there.

Tonight I decided to treat him to dinner.

Starter

Coconut Broth Mussels £7.50
Scottish mussels, green curried broth, spiced bread

I think I had this ages ago, but wanted to give it another shot.

On arrival this looked and smelled amazing, and I quickly took my photos and dug right in.

This tasted so good, and the broth with the mussels or with the bread everything was just perfect!

I could have easily had a second helping of this.

My Rating:

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Main

Goan Monkfish £18
Spice crusted pan-seared fillet of Scottish Monkfish. Layers of flavour, depth, tartness and hint of sweetness. Onions and coconut

I spotted this and thought hmm it sounded good but a little pricy….then I thought ah well lets give it a shot.

WOW!!! I am so glad I choose this, the flavour was amazing and the monkfish was mega tasty! it was nice and meaty but just melted in my mouth.

This could be my new favourite dish at Swadish!! and this was another one I could have easily had a second helping off.

Swadish Sunday Tandoori Chicken Roast (Merchant City, Glasgow) 2021 : Review

V: 22nd August 2021

The Visit :

Todays visit I went with a group of friends for the Sunday Tandoori Chicken Roast, this is something I have not had in Swadish before so I was really looking forward to it.

Tandoori Chicken Roast (Pre-order required Feeds 2 people £35.00)

Available only by pre-order on Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday.

  • Marinated Tandoori Chicken Roast
  • Served with tandoori potatoes, carrots and broccoli
  • Buttery tomato sauce
  • Naan bread/Pilau rice
  • And mint and coriander chutney.

There were 5 of us tonight so we ordered 3 roasts, since 1 does 2 people.

WOW the table tonight was very very full, but everything looked very good and smelled really nice.

Presentation like always was perfect, everything looked so good.

We all couldn’t wait to dig in, and start tasting this massive feast in front of us.

The chicken was perfectly cooked, very tender and juicy and had an amazing flavour. The dips so good, I couldn’t decide what my favourite was the mint or the tomato sauce.

The veg and rice was again perfectly cooked and very flavoursome.

I was a bad blogger tonight as I forgot to take photos of the rest of the dishes, as we were all having a lovely meal and a great chat and laughs.

There was no room for any desserts, and some food was taken home with us as we were all so full from this amazing roast.

I cant fault anything tonight apart from my stomach not being big enough, the food was all perfectly cooked and packed with amazing flavours.

Fancy having a great Sunday Roast? then check out Swadish and get ordering I promise you, you wont be disappointed.
