Kwusi box African Snacks Subscription Box : Review

GIFTED

The guys over at Kwusi asked if I would like to try one of their subscription boxes, I said yeah as I have never really tried many African snacks and its always good to try new things.

Kwusi box

I opened the box and wow so many items!!!

I took every packet out and had a good look at them, I only knew of one brand Chika’s as they had recently sent me some snacks to try.

The rest were all new to me which was very cool, as its always good to try new things.

The Snacks

Olu Olu Sweet Yellow Plantain Chips

I started with these.

These looked really good, and smelled really nice. They had a nice crunch to them, and I thought there was a good amount in the packet.

The banana flavour was still there but very subtle, but mmm so good and these were finished very fast.

Safari Peach Fruit Roll

This one looked and sounded very interesting.

I am a big fan of the flavour peach, so I was hoping this wouldn’t disappoint.

I opened this and I had a subtle hint of peach, then I touched it and it reminded me of a childhood sweet.

Next I cut a little off and tasted it.

Very interesting, it had a slightly chewy texture and a slight hint of peach.

Overall it was just ok for me, but my fiancee loved this.

Chikas Sun roasted Red Skin Peanuts

I got some peanuts with my Chika’s snacks, but this one was new to me.

Unfortunately I cant eat nuts, but my fiancee was willing to help me out with this review.

She said “the flavour was really nice, they had a good crunch to them and also one she would purchase again”

Chikas Lightly Salted Wholegrain Rice Crisps

I had these crisps before from Chika’s and they were nice, thin, light and were lightly salted.

For me I could have done with a slightly stronger salt taste, but thats my personal preference.

Love Chin Chin

This looked interesting, I loved the branding of this and the font used.

It said looks crunches like a biscuit, but tastes like cake….how good does this sound!!

It was spot on! these were very cool and I really liked this.

I could have easily had many more packets.

Kwusi Sweet Mix

Who doesnt like a sweet mix, they are cool and fun sized.

Again like most of the brands I had never heard of Tom Tom, but I dug right in and tried both.

The yellow packing was a banana flavour, and the black a mint flavour.

Both were very nice, and guess what! finished very fast.

Rooibos Orange Tisane

I actually tried this one after the herbal one (which is the next one you will read).

For me it had a similar taste, again was very nice and refreshing.

Rooibos Orange Herbal Tisane

I am not a big tea drinker, more coffee but I am always up for trying new things and expanding my tastebuds.

This was actually really nice, it had a nice tea taste with an extra little bit of orange flavour to it.

I sat and sipped this to savour the taste, and overall it was nice and I enjoyed my cup of tea.

If your a tea drinker then you would really like this.

Nestle Pepermint Crisp

Did I save the best till last?

This sounded really good, so I did keep it to last.

WOW WOW this was so nice, the flavour was perfect the crunch was perfect I need to get more of these 🙂

Overall :

Note : Just because this was gifted, that has not influenced my thoughts in any way. The above is a 100% honest review of the subscription box.

Sock Life Socks Subscription Box : Review

Gifted

The guys over at Sock Life sent me a subscription box to try.

Every month you will receive 2 brand new pairs of Sock Life socks to add to your amazing sock collection! That’s right, you get 2 pairs every month for only £8.99pm.

The Subscription Box

Woohoo so I popped out to get some shopping, and when I returned through my letterbox was my Sock Life Subscription Box.

This was nice and thin and the perfect size, so you wouldn’t need to worry about missing that guy at your door as it letter box friendly.

Socks for me are like friends, you can find them anywhere but only a few are good and only a few you want to keep….so now it was time to see if I made a new friend.

Pair 1

The first pair from Sock Life UK are taking you on a vibrate yet cool journey.

They are made from really nice and soft material, and still allow your feet to breath.

I put them on and wore them for a day before doing this review, and can say I found them to be very comfy and felt nice on.

I had happy feet 🙂

Pair 2

The second pair also took me on a comfy and bright journey.

Again the material allowed my feet to breath and also felt really nice and soft on.

Another day and more happy feet 🙂

Overall :

Note : Just because this was gifted, that has not influenced my thoughts in any way. The above is a 100% honest review of the product.

I have tried in the past a Socks subscription, and just like these they were really nice and vibrant but I feel these ones are of a slightly better quality and on and nice to touch.

The socks are really good quality, lovely and colourful with quirky designs. These style of socks would go with a smart suit, or just a smart but casual outfit.

I even had a few comments on my instagram about these, and everyone around me really liked the style and designs.

I have no hesitation to recommend these, as they are good quality and have funky designs. Plus for £8.99 per month for two cool funky and comfy socks, thats really good value for money.

BeerMeNow Craft Beer Subscription Box: Review

Website: www.beermenow.co.uk

I decided to put a pause on my Beer52 boxes, and jump over to try BeerMeNow.

I got talking to these guys on Instagram and it sounded like a good one to try, they gave me a little back story and some information on the beers and that night I subscribed.

A few days later a box arrived at my work and I had to open and take a quick peek.

Ok so this was a little different to Beer52, but I am not doing a comparison review so I will stop there.

I liked the handwritten envelope that put a smile on my face, the next thing I noticed was that each can and bottle was individually wrapped which I liked as it showed me they take care of what they deliver.

I also liked that some gifts were included like the beer mats, pen and a welcome/beer description letter.

The Beers…

Obviously, there are many beers so doing an individual review for each would be cray and mega long so I will tell you a quick overview.

The box contained a mix of different beers from UK breweries including; pale ales, browns, ambers, sours, bitters, stouts and porters.

It took me a while to get through the beers, but it was a great experience to my tastebuds and I learned a little about each brewery on the way.

I tried the Mad Squirrel beer first and wow a VERY good beer, I was off to a good start so I continued…well not all in the one night. If I saw this beer for sale here in Glasgow, I would definitely pick up a few cans.

My next favourite was from Calverleys Brewery the Porter, mmmm another really good beer that was very easy to drink.

And also in my top 3 beers was the Cocow Stout beer from Ampersand Brewery. This was sooo good and I loved the chocolate tones in this as I have a sweet tooth and anything chocolatey is a winner.

The above were my top 3 beers from this months subscription box, these are the ones that stood out for me and my taste buds. The other beers were also very good, and from other breweries, I had never heard of which I loved as its always good to try new things.

Overall :

Overall I enjoyed the service from BeerMeNow, I liked the attention to detail in wrapping the individual beers, the little handwritten envelope and the little gifts that came with it. These guys are also very social, and liked and commented on the photos I posted to Instagram or Twitter which is good as everyone likes companies that are very social.

It was great to try beers from breweries that are still unknown to me, and beers that might never be sold up here in Glasgow.

Guys if you like craft beer here is another subscription box that I would recommend, give them a go and see what you think.

Chat to me on here via the comments below, or on my Twitter or Instagram and let me know if you have tried BeerMeNow or have just joined and your thoughts. I want to hear from you so let’s have a wee chat 🙂

Can’t wait to try my second box 🙂

Cheers
