Well finally after promising Via Italia on Twitter I would visit, I finally did so here is what I thought.

I love all things Italian, and more so the food so I was looking forward to trying some street food and what it was like inside.

I decided on my first visit to only have 1 item and a drink just to get a feel for the place, and aim to pop in again in the future.

Inside has a very relaxed and modern Italian cafe look, along with the decor on the walls.

The Food :

Today I ordered :

Piada Stick (Pepperoni and cheese) £3.75

This was basically like a flat bread pizza, and it was very nice. The dough was a little too doughy for me but overall it was nice and very filling.

If you plan on having this and a few other items be warned this is very filling, well it was for me and I am a big eater.

Fruit Juice £2.60

I thought lets try a different drink rather than my normal coffee with my lunch, and I opted for this not knowing how it would taste.

This was very pleasant and very refreshing.

Overall :

For a quick snack or lunch, or even a light dinner this place is worth a visit.

I saw a few other things I would like to try next time, so keep watching as I aim to be back soon.

Patisserie Maxime (Edinburgh) : Review

Location

6 Queensferry Street
Edinburgh EH2 4PA
UK

Website

Visit Date : Friday 21st April 2017

This was a little random find for me today, as normally I just go to the same places for a snack when visiting Edinburgh.

As you walk past or walk to go inside you are hit with a colourful display of cakes etc

On entering we were told to take a table, and they would bring the menus to us. The place reminds me a little of Patisserie Valerie in style.

I opted today for the Maxime 2 deal, which was a sandwich, drink and cake for £10.95 which really isn’t that bad.

Tuna Sandwich

When this arrived I instantly thought “this is massive” plus if you are a salad lover you get a large side salad.

I left the side salad as not a big salad fan, but ate the sandwich which was very nice and really filling.

Triple Chocolate Cake

This looked as good as it tasted. Three layers of different chocolate mmmmmmmm

I could have easily had more but I was being good, as I was going for afternoon tea later today.

Overall

Where I was seated I was next to the kitchen door, so there was always movement going to and from this area. This table should really not be here, as it would give everyone more room to get in and out the kitchen plus doesn’t disturb anyone sitting here with a constant back and forth of people.

Overall my first visit here was nice, the service was OK and the food was nice.
