I was very kindly asked by One Cove Road if I would like to visit them and have a brunch. When I saw it was in Gourock, I had to research what the best way to get there was before I could accept. Please remember my review is 100% honest, and not influenced in any way just because it was free.

After a little Googling, I found I could get the train from Glasgow Central to Gourock but get off at the second last stop (Fort Matilda) and from there it was only a 10 min walk which was perfect so I accepted the invite.

The walk from the train station to One Cove Road, was very nice as you have an amazing view of the sea and the surroundings.

Inside was nicely decorated, with a black and white theme. Even the staff’s uniforms were black and white, which was a very nice touch and looked very smart.

I was very hungry so I thought let’s get the full breakfast……

First impressions were this was a good portion, and smelled really good….now it was time to taste.

Everything was perfectly cooked, and mmmm mmmm mmmm mmmm the sausage was really!!!! good. It had the thickness of a burger but the flavour was mmmm this was the best sausage I have had in a long time.

Overall this was very filling, and I enjoyed every mouthful and as you guess LOVED the sausage. I would visit again just to have the sausage 🙂

Overall

Firstly I would like to thank One Cove Road for the invite, I had a lovely visit and a lovely day in Gourock.

The staff were all very friendly, and very helpful with my visit today.

I would recommend One Cove Road to anyone that takes a visit to Gourock, you can either sit in or take away. If you take away you can enjoy a lovely walk, with a lovely view.

Check it out you won’t be disappointed, and try the sausage!!!!

See you again 🙂

My Visit to Troon (Scotland)

Visit Date : Saturday 25th March 2017

Location : Troon Beach & Marine Troon Hotel

Today I went to Troon with my parents and girlfriend, and the weather was looking nice so it was going to be a very nice day.

I had heard that Troon were holding a street market today, so we thought lets take a look while we are down as we had booked Afternoon Tea at the Marine Troon Hotel.

The Market :

Before going I didn’t really hear much about it, or what stalls were going to be there.

We arrived about a few hours after it started (starting time 10am & arrived 1pm), and I counted about maybe 10 stalls. Most of the stalls didn’t have much left, and the stalls were just ok you had some fish, soup, soaps, plants and sweets stalls. It was a good selection, but I just expected more.

What I did like was the atmosphere, there was a lot of people and the weather was good and the place had great atmosphere. Everyone was enjoying themselves, the children were enjoying the sun and eating ice cream cones it was a nice day.

The Beach :

For me out of the places I have visited (so far) this has the nicest and cleanest beach. Standing on the beach you have a wonderful view (if its a nice day) of the Isle of Arran.

As you can see from my photos, today was a really nice day. The sun was out, the view was amazing and everyone on the beach was having a nice time.

For more info about the beach visit this link : Visit Scotland : Troon Beach

Afternoon Tea :

Location : The Marine Hotel

I have never been inside The Marine Hotel, I have only passed it when heading to Troon beach.

From what I saw from inside its very nicely decorated.

We were seated and asked who was on Tea or Coffee, and brought a glass of Prosecco each.

The atmosphere today was very nice and very relaxing.

The afternoon tea was presented nice, and had a good selection. Everything was nice and fresh, and as always you can’t beat a scone cream and jam.

Overall my day visit to Troon, was really nice and relaxing and I look forward to returning on another nice day…maybe even for a picnic on the beach.

My Visit to Lomond Shores

Loch Lomond Shores,
Ben Lomond Way,
Balloch,
West Dunbartonshire,

I was recently speaking to a few bloggers and they said I should blog about some of the places I visit, since I am from Scotland and haven’t done one yet.

Website : www.lochlomondshores.com

Lomond Shores is a stunning location for locals and for tourists, you can do some shopping or eating inside or take part in a few outdoor activists.

This location is perfect for young and old, and for family day trips.

Lomond Shores is nicer to visit on a sunny dry day, but todays visit was dry but very cold but that didn’t put any dampener on the day.

My Favourite things to do here :

  • Loch Lomond Sea Life Centre : I have only done this once, mostly due to the cost of the tickets but it’s a nice little walk about and to see all the different creatures.
  • Walking about : As you will see below from my photos, the scenery here is amazing. A nice leisurely walk about the area is a very relaxing and nice thing to do.
  • Eating : Not really a favourite thing to do here, but if you can sit at the window you can eat and look out at the fantastic view.

These are just a few things to do here, do click the website link above to see the full list.

One of the things I would love to do on my next visit is a little Clyde Cruise, where you spend about an hour going up and down the loch seeing all the scenery.

Website : www.sweeneyscruiseco.com/cruises/loch-lomond-shores/

For me this is one I would book ahead and making sure the weather was at least dry, as I have seen some photos from this and the sights can be amazing.

Overall as always it was an enjoyable and relaxing day here, if you have been and looking for somewhere different to visit then try here.
