Yip back again at Obu Pan Asian.

So I have been hitting the blogging hard again as you may have seen with all my recent and many posts, so I decided this month to try and be good and see if I can get any vouchers etc for Glasgow Restaurants.

For me Obu Pan Asian has always been a very relaxing atmosphere, and I love the decoration it just sets you in the mood to relax and enjoy your meal.

Do take a look at my other Obu Pan Asian Reviews as there are some more photos.

As I said I had a voucher which gave me two mains and a glass of wine each, I can’t remember how much I paid for it but you can always find great deals on itison for here. Like most times I have a voucher I tend to always add a little extra to my order, or opt to pay for something that’s not included in the voucher offer.

Starter :

I opted for going off the Specials Menu tonight.

Seasame flavoured Rice rolls filled with egg and pickled vegetables with :

Korean Style Beef “Bolgogi”
Fried Tuna
Crab Sticks

Normally I don’t order Sushi from Obu Pan Asian, as I really love Nippon Kitchen’s Sushi but today I decided to give it a try and see how it compares.

The flavour of the Sushi was really nice, the crab flavour was perfect for me. My only issue was the rice didn’t hold together very well.

Portion Size : 5
Flavour : 5

Main :

Thai Green Curry
Fragrant and medium spiced with green curry paste, coconut milk and kaffir lime leaf.

I had this dish a while ago in here, but it was the chicken option. Tonight I opted for the king prawn, to see how the flavour was with prawn.

The flavour of this was perfect, not to sweet not too spicy and the prawn was a very good option.

The offer included a glass of wine each, the one we got was a large one as the owner gave us a free upgrade.

Dessert :

There is always room for dessert.

This was not included in the deal, so I paid for this.

Rich chocolate mousse topped with a hint of chilli and topped with berries and cream £5.25

Oh My God!!!! I love my sweet dishes, and I love chocolate this was so so so good. A very thick and chocolatey mousse, with the very subtle hint of chilli which worked really well.

Overall :

I won’t comment too much on the prices as the owners were nice enough to allow us to go off the menu slightly, and as I said they gave us a free large glass of wine.

The prices for Obu Pan Asian with or without a voucher are all very reasonable, I have never found that its felt too costly for the size of the dish.

As always I really enjoy coming here, its very relaxing and the staff are all very friendly.

Obu Pan Asian Restaurant (Glasgow) : Review

Visit Date : 7 August 2016

So when I started doing my blog posts I decided I would try not to go back to the same place for a while, and order the same thing. Well I went back to Obu Pan Asian on the 7th August, and happy to see some familiar faces from my last visit

Starter :

To start with again I had the pork boa, just like the last time this was full of flavour and one of my favourite starters at Obu. It says its for two but if your hungry you could easily eat the two.

I also had the Tiger Prawn Tempura with Spicy Kimchi mayonnaise dip, again my aim was to try new items and review them but it had been a while and i really liked both these starters I had to have them again.

Main :

Obu Pan Asian have a new menu, currently at the time of doing this review the menu is only available in the restaurant and not updated on the website. One of the new items was a Thai Green Curry, I chose to have the Thai Green Chicken Curry as it sounded nice and it was something I haven’t tried here before.

This was very nice and a very nice size of portion, as it wasnt so much that you feel very full after it. The flavours were very nice and complimented each other, it did come with a spicy sauce but it was too spicy for my tastebuds.

Dessert :

I am not long back from my summer holiday, and want to start my diet again and didn’t really want to get anything else…….but I failed and got the donuts.

Since Obu opened the donuts have changed but the ones I got were the original ones, these ones are more tastey and loaded with sugar. I was told that the reason they changed from the original ones to the new ones, were a few people said donuts should be round rather than this way….who cares these taste a lot better and are great if you have a sweet tooth like me.

As always the staff were very welcoming and very helpful, again just like before please do check here out you wont be disappointed.
