Beefeater Grill – The Castle (Newton Mearns) 2021 : Review

The Visit

While my mum and gran were off shopping in Silverburn my grandpa wanted to come here and eat, so we dropped them off and headed here.

I was here many many years ago, and enjoyed the meal then so I was looking forward to tonight.

Though this time round on arrival while we were standing at the table trying to help my grandpa from his wheelchair to the seat, we were asked what drinks we would like….surely waiting till we sat would be more professional?

This pattern seemed to happen for all the tables around us, before anyone sat down or even close to their table they were asked what to drink….personally I think its a bit soon…let people sit and then ask.

The Food

I decided to go for something light, as I wasn’t too hungry tonight.

Crispy Chicken Wings x5 (Starter) £5.99
Five tender chicken wings serviced with a choice of Piri Piri or sticky BBQ sauce.

This was a good sized portion for me, and they looked nice.

Time to taste.

Oh, ok so firstly the chicken was cooked perfectly as it came of the bone very easily.

Flavour of the coating was nothing, and I am glad it came with a sauce as it was very bland without it.

Triple Cooked Chips £3.29

These were probably the best part of the meal to be honest.

Nice flavour and texture and the crunch was perfect.

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Overall :

Sorry guys but the service with regards to letting us sit down first befre asking for drinks I personally didnt think was good.

The wings were very bland, and 100% needed sauce which should be an addition to the flavour.

My dad and grandfather also said their food was extremely bland…..and that’s before I commented about mine.

Tonight for me was not great, sorry guys but it could have been an off night for them? or something but please dont let this stop you going and trying them.

Rating: 1 out of 5.
