Singl Coffee: Review

Website:  www.singlcoffee.com

Singl coffee was born out of a love for coffee. Truly great, real, coffee.

Here at Singl coffee, we don’t think coffee has reached its peak yet, and if simplicity is key, we aim to take that to the next level. We want fresh ground coffee to be accessible to everybody, every day, no matter where you are. Coffee capsule machines are great, we love them, but you can’t put it in your bag and carry it to work with you! If you don’t put up with bad instant coffee at home, why put up with it anywhere else?

The guys over at Singl Coffee were nice enough to send me a box, to sample their coffee which was great as I am a big coffee lover. They sent me a sample of each of the coffee’s they sell, so I could get a complete taster of what they do.

Singl Coffee use Arabica coffee beans in all the coffee bags, which helps with the flavour of the coffee so I couldn’t wait to try some.

I opened the box…

I really liked how they packaged this, but something got my attention right away….the coffee is in bags just like tea (I didn’t know this till after they sent me the box when I read about the company)…..now this is interesting.

So I have a Nespresso machine which uses capsules, and I have also purchased compatible capsules so how does this work? well to be honest with you it works very easy.

As you can see from the photo above, you open the package, place the bag in a cup and pour your hot water in…..let it sit for as long as you like (depends how strong you want) and that’s it…..just like making a cup of tea but this time coffee.

It was time to have a coffee….or three 🙂

I followed the instructions…

Colombian..Sip….Ethiopian….Sip……Decaff….Sip….

I liked all three coffee’s but the Ethiopian one would probably be my favourite, mostly down to taste and aftertaste.

I even took a few bags to work, as I couldn’t carry my Nespresso machine to work. This was great and I really enjoyed having good coffee at my work and at home.

The cost for 7 bags is about £7.50, and 14 is £9.50 which to be honest your better going for the 14. They also do a subscribe and save option, giving you a subscription coffee box, which is good and you get 10% discount doing this option.

Overall I am glad that they sent me some coffee, as I will now be having good coffee at work instead of so-so coffee. I have already recommended www.singlcoffee.com to a few people for them to order, and take the coffee to work.

I will be ordering or having you as my coffee subscription box soon.

Thanks, guys and thanks for improving my coffee experience 🙂

Moving Beans Coffee : Review

I am a coffee lover, I never take Tea when I go out or at home.

I have a Nespresso machine, with many different types of coffee which I use on a daily basis.

In the past I have tried several other brands of coffee pods, but to be honest the taste was not good or the pod never really popped right and only a drip or two (sometimes nothing) came out….so it was a waste of money.

I recently decided to try Moving Beans, which are compatible with my Nespresso machine. I looked these guys up to see what reviews they got, and to find out more information on the company.

The company started off as a small family business and grew from then, their aim was to reduce waste and the product was enjoyed and the big part the packaging was good for the environment.

I liked this idea, so I gave them a shot.

The Packaging :

As you can see the boxes are coloured different, so you can tell the difference between the coffee. The designs for me were very nice, and on the back of each package it told you a little about the type of bean used e.g.

Kenyan : A milder roast with a deliciously smooth crema, zero bitterness and warm chocolate aromas

The Pods :

They look very similar to Nespresso pods, and the best part they are biodegradable so environmentally friendly.

I was a little hesitant looking at these, as I hoped when I put them in my machine they would pop and I would get a good amount of coffee.

The cost :

For a pack of 10 its normally £3.50, similar to other pods which was good.

This for me was a good price, and if I liked what I tasted I will be ordering more.

Time To Taste…..

I decided to try the Kenyan one first, and popped the pod in and clicked start.

I heard a nice pop followed by a nice amount of coffee pouring out in to my cup….this was a good start.

The coffee looked good, and had a nice head….next I smelled it and yeah very good. It had a nice strong smell, and this was something the other brands I tried didn’t have.

Now I tasted it…..very good!!!!

I was very impressed, the flavours were nice to start with and the after taste was just as nice.

I tried the other 2 types, and just like this one very nice and the flavours were perfect.

Overall :

I am very impressed with this product, all the pods burst perfectly and allowed the coffee to flow nicely in to the cup. The taste from all 3 beans, was just as nice as the Nespresso ones.

My only complaint would, if I was to take the pods out the box and put them in a glass jar for display. I wouldnt be able to tell the difference between the pods, as the colours are all the same. They should maybe consider changing the colour of the top of the pod, to match the boxes e.g Kenyan would have red.

If you have had a bad experience with other available Nespresso alternatives, then please do check these guys out as I was very impressed and will be ordering again from these guys.
