Back again to use my second and last (so far) Itison Voucher, and tonight I was trying another burger.

Main Course

The Lemmy (normally £9.50)
Beef burger topped with BBQ pulled pork, shoestring onions, cheddar & jack daniels BBQ sauce.

When this arrived it looked goooood and smelled goood, but just like last time lets start with the fries.

The fries just like my last two visits, were very nice and cooked perfectly but I would actually these were MUCH nicer than the last two visits. What ever you have changed guys, or if its the chef tonight don’t change it!!

I grabbed myself two Itison vouchers for here, so you will see another little review after this one.

Main Course

The Jam – (Normally £9.50)
grilled chicken burger smothered in home-made chorizo jam & montery jack cheese

Since I had two vouchers I thought I would start with a chicken burger this time round, and on my next visit have a proper burger.

Starting with the fries again, and another win as these were cooked perfect!!!!

On to the chicken burger…

This was a nice chicken burger, it was cooked perfect, had a slight crisp to it and flavours all very nice…BUT!! for my personal tastes it could have done with more cheese or a mayo as it was just a tad too dry for my taste (remember this is a personal taste comment)

Would I have this again yeah, but I would add mayo or another sauce to it.

Child Friendly: No (But check places policy)      Accepts: Cash & Card

I have never been to Maggie May’s, I have always passed it on the bus, walked passed it but never thought lets go in and see what its like.

I recently spotted an Itison for here, where I could get 2 burgers and 2 soft drinks for £9 how good is that! So I thought this is an offer to good not to purchase and try.

Maggie May’s has had a revamp so this was like a promo to get people to come in and see whats its like now and to try the food.

On entering I had a look about, for me it was a typical bar with a little modern twist to it. The place looked very clean, and the layout looked nice and spacious.

The eating area is at the far right back of the premises, so we were shown to the tables.

The Food :

The offer was for a burger and a drink, but I thought lets try a starter and see what the other food is like here.

Maggese Lava Dipping Pot £4.00
Cheesy dipping pot served with Tortilla chips

I took a look at the menu and it was between two dishes, but this one won.

On arrival this looked a good portion size for a starter, and I just dug in.

This was very nice, the chips were nice and crispy and the sauce was very good. The sauce had a little kick to it, which was perfect and overall a really good starter.

Whiskey-a-go-go £N/A (Normally £8.50)
Beef burger topped with haggis & fried onions with a whiskey infused peppercorn sauce

There was a lot of nice sounding burgers on the menu, so it was a hard choice to make but I opted for this one.

Presentation wise it was just ok, the burger though did look good and smelled good.

The burger taste was nice but just so so for me, I was expecting something a little more from this due to the haggis and the sauce but it was ok.

Would I have it again? hmmm maybe if I was back in, but if I do return I would try some of the other burgers on the menu.

Overall :

Overall my first visit to Maggie Mays was an ok one, the inside I can’t really comment on the new look but it looked nice.

Food wise again it was ok, I really enjoyed my started and the burger was nice.

I would try another burger next time, and maybe another starter…then again I did enjoy the starter a lot so will see what happens on my next visit.
