UNLTD Alcohol Free Premium Craft Beer : Review

Please check out my previous post on UNLTD, and continue to see what my thoughts are now for them.

The Delivery

The guys sent me their mixed case, which includes their Lager and new IPA beer.

I have had the lager from these guys previously and really liked it, so much so I told all my friends about it and to get some.

When they said they were sending me a mixed case, which included their new IPA I couldn’t wait to try this. I have been meaning to order some to try, but it kept popping out my head…..I should really have a notebook to remind me.

The beer, The Taste

Style : Lager
About : This thirst quenching lager has light citrus aromas, a hint of honey and caramel, rounded off with a subtly bitter finish. 0.5% abv
Notes : Malty, hints of honey
ABV% : 0.5%⠀
IBU: 0⠀

Originally when I tried this I really liked it, but there was a dryness in my mouth after drinking it but the flavour was very good.

I chilled this one, cracked it open and poured myself a cold one.

Oh this was different but in a good way, the flavour was just as I remember but nicer and no dryness not even a little ohhhhh

I asked the guys if they have made changes to it since I last tried, and they said yes its an improved recipe wooohooo

This was perfect, so good I had two the first night I got these.

My Rating :

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Style : IPA
About : This full flavoured IPA has aromas of citrus and tropical fruits, deep and complex malt flavours and a perfectly balanced bitter backbone – which basically means it’s bloody delicious.
ABV% : 0.5%⠀
IBU: 0⠀

This one the one I was really looking forward to trying, as it was their new beer.

I popped this in the cooler to chill, and then with dinner I cracked it open.

This was very nice and light, and I could taste a subtle citrus flavour which was very mmm

Just like the lager I had to have two of these as it was that good.

My Rating :

Rating: 5 out of 5.

My Heverlee Beer Delivery : Review

The guys at Heverlee Beer contacted me and asked if I would like to try their beer and since I always like trying new food and drinks I accepted.

I received it just over a week ago, but due me driving more I couldn’t drink it till tonight.

I was at work when a BIG box arrived for me, and I knew this had to be the beer but I didn’t expect it too big this big.

It was time to open the package and see what was inside…

Wow, this was very cool, I never expect to get so many items so it was a great surprise.

I took the box home and emptied the contents

This was a great delivery, so it was time to check out the glass.

And there was more….even some chocolates 🙂

When Heverlee contacted me, to be honest, I only half recognised the name so I took to Google to have a little read about them.

Heverlee is a Belgium beer and a very nice light beer.

Heverlee is normally served in a chalice glass which is to preserve the beer head. The foam is then normally sliced off with a knife, which is known as ‘beheading’ and doing this removes the larger bubbles, which tend to cause the head to deteriorate faster, protecting the liquid underneath from exposure to the air and maintaining the head’s bitter aromas.

The artwork on the case, the beer, bag and glass were designed by the world-renowned Belgian street-artist DZIA. If you want to see more of his artwork click HERE

As I said at the start of this post, I had the beer for just over a week but only just getting round to drinking it as I have 2 days where I won’t be driving.

This is a very nice light beer and had a really nice taste to it. Heverlee will be now added to my top beers to order when I go out for a drink.

Thanks to the guys at Heverlee for contacting me, this was a great gift and a really nice beer.

Cheers.

CAU Steak Restaurant (Glasgow) : Review

Child Friendly: Yes      Accepts: Cash & Card

My last visit here was around 6 months to a year, and it was my first visit.

To be honest with you my first visit was not that great, I was with my friend and we ordered a few dishes to try them and they all came at once (which is OK as am used to this) but I did try and sample from all as soon as they arrived and some dishes were just warn and no more, meaning by the time i finish my first dish the other 2 would be cold and not enjoyable.

The service this visit was good, it was just that the dishes could have been a lot warmer on arrival.

Today’s visit…

I decided I would only have the one dish as it was lunch time, and not be too much of a pig plus it meant I wouldn’t have a repeat of my first visit.

The Food :

Latin Burger £12.95
Toppled with jalapenos, blistered peppers & fresh avocado. (comes with thin or thick chips, or sweet potatoes)

On arrival this looked very nice, and I couldn’t wait to dig in.

This was a very nice burger, the flavours all worked very well and the meat was very tasty on its own. My only issue was the bun started to fall apart, as the juices were making it soft but I didn’t mind this as could use a knife and fork if it got too bad.

The meat was very tender and perfectly cooked, I opted for medium.

I was actually expecting some sweet potato fries, but then it was presented this way.

Visually this looked very nice, and to taste well you cant really go wrong with sweet potatoes these were cooked right and seasoned with salt really nice.

Rating :

Quilmes Lager £3.95
Argentina, 4.9% 340ml

IMG_8553.jpg

I like light beers, as they are easy to drink and you don’t feel too full after a few.

I asked the waitress to recomend one and she recomended this.

This was an OK beer, I wouldn’t say it was my favourite but it was as described a nice light beer….would I get it again on my return? yes I would.

Overall :

Overall my second visit was 100% better than my first, and I would go back again to try more dishes.

I cant fault today’s visit, the service was really good and the food very nice and tasty.

I have been told to try the steak on my next visit, but the problem is I am not a steak fan so this will be interesting.
