Glasgow Bloggers Meet Up #2 (GLasgow) : Chaakoo..Saves the Day

As you may have read in my last Bloggers Meet up post, I have never done anything like this before and for me this is a challenge and a fun event to organise.

So organising this event started off really well, then on Monday 27th February that’s when everything started to go down hill.

This event was meant to be held at Glasgow Sugar Dumplin, but on Monday 27th February 2017 I heard that it had gone in to Liquidation.

This was crazy to hear and very sad, as it was a home from home for me….then the panic started where to locate this second event.

I called a few locations but due to the amount of people they couldn’t manage to take us, so I contacted the manager at Chaakoo and he saved the day.

After that I had a few more people cancel, this was expected as you never get the full amount at any event.

Our Meet Up : Friday 3rd March 2017

Location : Chaakoo Bombay Cafe

79 ST VINCET STREET
GLASGOW G2 5TF

Unfortunately not as many as I hoped turned up, which was a shame as it would have been nice to meet more people and also since Chaakoo kept the spaces for me.

The Food :

Just like all my visits I am a big fan of the food here, and could easily have a lot more than I really order.

SMOKED CHICKEN TIKKA £5.95
Our own whisky chip smoked chicken, drowsed in our tikka dry rub with raita.

7cbef365-c203-4d63-ab82-3ec3ad5f2ec5

Tasted just as it says smoked chicken.

For me this was nice, it was smoky, cooked well and the chicken was nice and tender. The sauce added a little extra taste, but for me the chicken was fine on its own.

SAAG PANEER £5.95 (V)
A classic jalfrezi dish of spiced spinach, studded with cubes of creamy fried paneer cheese.

Yip had to order it again, this is my new favourite dish here as my other has now been removed from the menu.

This is a very nice dish, not too spicy and loaded with flavour. If you like curry and cottage cheese and never had this before, then this is kinda what its like but very very tasty.

KEEMA MATAR £5.50
Minced Lamb simmered with garden peas, garlic and ground spices, enriched with a splash of cream.

This was my first time trying this dish, I didn’t know what it would be like but thought lets give something new a try.

For me this was a little spicy, and also was like a lasagna without the pasta and cheese.

Would I have it again? not sure as it was just a little to spicy for my taste, but if you like spicy then why not give it a shot if you visit Chaakoo.

Overall :

Overall the night was a very fun night, got to meet some new people and we all had a nice evening.

A BIG thanks to Chaakoo for saving the day!!!!!!

Looking to try a really good Indian restaurant in Glasgow, then please do check out Chaakoo I promise it wont disappoint.
