Showcase Cinemas UK (Paisley) – Home Alone

GIFTED

The guys over at Showcase Cinema asked me to come along back to the cinema and see Home Alone, which is the first Christmas movie to be shown this year.

We all need a good Christmas movie to cheer us up, as its been a terrible year for everyone in some way or another so I said yes and added to my calendar.

Now most of us here have seen Home Alone, either from childhood or you may have shown your own kids.

I had not seen this film in ages, so I was very excited to see it again and in the cinema.⠀

Time for the film

On arrival, I popped on my face-mask, got my ticket and sat down to watch the film. Everyone was spaced out, and the seats just like last time were mega comfy.

There were so many parts to this film I forgot happened, and I got lost in the whole experience and enjoyed it from start to finish.

The whole experience of going back to the cinema was great, I have really missed it and its is and always will be the best way to see movies.⠀

A BIG thanks to ShowCase for my invite, and I highly recommend you book something and take a visit to your cinema or see what I saw and book Home Alone and get into the Christmas mood 🙂

Scottish film ‘Schemers’ at Showcase Cinema de Lux Paisley: (Glasgow) : Review

GIFTED

The guys over at Showcase Cinema invited me along to the premier of Schemers, where there would be a wee talk from some of the cast before the film. I couldnt say no to this, as this sounded very cool plus its a Scottish film and its always good to support your local films etc

About the film

His football career over, Davie starts promoting gigs in Dundee with two friends, leading to a hugely ambitious Iron Maiden show. Out of his depth and in debt with gangster Fergie, Davie needs to pull off the biggest scheme of his life.

Before the film

Talent from the film gave us a wee intro before the film, it was nice to hear them and see them as it made the night extra special.⠀

The film

The film for me was much better than expected, it has a great 70’s and 80’s soundtrack that really works well. The film has a really good pace, and you do feel for the characters.⠀

It also has many great laughs, and some you will laugh out loud at.As I said at the start, Schemers is the first film featured and filmed in Dundee.⠀

Visit Overall :

Note : Just because this was an invite, that has not influenced my thoughts in any way. The above is a 100% honest review of the day and film.

Firstly a big thanks to Showcase for the invite, it was very much appreciated.

The film as I said earlier is really good, very enjoyable from start to end and very well paced. It has a good amount of laughs, and you instantly feel for the characters.

I recommend this film, as I really enjoyed it so go check it out 🙂

Back to the cinema Showcase Cinema de Lux (Glasgow) : Review

GIFTED

Its been an interesting year, and now everything is slowly going back to normal…..or as normal it can be for now.

One of my fav hobbies and loves is going to the Cinema, this is how you should see movies.

The big screen, the explosion of sounds, being transported to another world is an amazing feeling and one that I have missed and I am sure you have missed too.

The guys over at Showcase invited me to come back to the cinema and to see a film, I couldnt wait.

IT’S TIME TO FALL IN LOVE WITH CINEMA AGAIN

Are you sitting comfortably? After the successful reopening of 14 Showcase locations in England, Showcase Cinema de Lux Glasgow and Showcase Cinema de Lux Paisley have revealed which films will be hitting the big screen.

Whether you want to revisit some of the biggest ever blockbusters, take a trip down memory lane, catch a film you didn’t get chance to see first time around or get the kids out of the house, you can sit back, relax, and enjoy your favourite movie for just £5.

Looking to finally get some action? Showcase has a film line up that’s out of this world. From Star Wars Episode V: Empire Strikes Back to Jurassic Park, or even Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, these sci-fi fantasy adventures can provide the perfect dose of excitement for your weekend.

Or treat the kids to one of the many family favourites on offer. Watch the adventure of two brothers in Disney’s Onward, or enjoy the catchy soundtrack of Sing, an animation that follows a group of singing animals. With all tickets just £5, it’s the perfect family day out.

For superhero fans, the cinemas will be screening DC classics. Watch Clark Kent become Superman in Superman: The Movie, or enjoy Aquaman, starring Jason Mamoa, as he leads the underwater kingdom of Atlantis.

If you’re a film fanatic who loves nothing more than a great movie and the big screen experience, then why not watch one of the all-time greats? Showcase has regularly shown timeless classics as part of the Flashback programme, and from Friday you can enjoy everything from Back to the Future to The Goonies to When Harry Met Sally.

To welcome back cinemagoers, Showcase Cinemas will be screening all films for just £5 a ticket. Guests are advised to book tickets online in advance or use the self-service ticket machines in the cinema lobby.

All Showcase sites opening have a thorough cleaning regime in place, plus multiple hand sanitising stations for guests to use.

the film i picked

I had a look at what was on and to be honest there were so many great films that I would love to see again…..I was taking my dad with me and he hadn’t seen Black Panther and I knew he would love it so thats what I picked.

I had only ever seen this on the small screen, so I couldn’t wait to see how it was on the big screen.

This was a fun ride from start to finish, I was totally pulled into the film and super comfy with the recliner seats.

How was it being back?

On entering I was asked if I had my ticket and if not someone would help me. I had to collect my ticket at the box office and just mention my name.

Got my ticket now to find my screen and sit down and relax.

On entering I was VERY impressed this place has changed soo much since the last time I was here, its very modern looking and the seats are all new and recline and MEGA comfy.

I sat down, took off my mask and got ready for the film.

What were restrictions?

You have to turn up 10 mins before the film starts, wear a mask until seated and if you leave the screen for the bathroom food or the film is finished you have to wear your mask.

How simple is that? yeah that easy.

Did I feel safe?

A lot of people will be worried about safety, and to be honest I felt 100% safe from my arrival till I got in my car.

The seats are limited per screen so that way social distancing is still in place, and using your mask etc

My dad who was with me also felt very safe and not worried, as they had put everything in place and was easy to follow.

Firstly a massive thanks to Showcase Cinema for my treat, I had a great night and felt very relaxed after the movie.

It was really good to go back to the cinema, I really missed the whole experience and how good it is to see a film in a massive screen and just get totally immersed.

I can honestly say going back to the cinema is as safe and fun as it was pre lockdown, and even better the films are £5 per person right now how amazing is that.

Whats your first film? let me know 🙂
