Spearhead Whisky Gift Box : Review

Spearhead Whisky, is a non-traditional new whisky brand that forms part of the Loch Lomond Group! Spearhead is a much sweeter, lighter whisky and is amazing in cocktails!

The Gift Box

The guys wanted to send me a wee gift box with some merchandise and some samples of the whisky.

It included :

  • A Beanie
  • Pin
  • 2 samples of their whisky

I loved the pin and beanie, the pin had a good amount of detail and the beanie was a perfect fit and very good quality.

The two whisky samples were in wee packets and wrapped in branded paper, I really like this touch as it added to the whole unboxing experience.

The Whisky

For me, whisky has always been a hit or miss, to be honest, more a miss.

I have been gifted whisky in the past and I enjoyed that one, and tried whisky at restaurants and didn’t like it so it’s a bit of a mixed bag and it’s a drink I would really like to get into.

I really looked forward to this arriving as it’s advertised as lighter and sweeter, which sounded perfect for me and one that should be a hit.

I opened the packet and poured it, went outside as it was a nice evening and sat down with my whisky.

Let’s start with the aroma, this smelled very nice and had a nice sweetness to it so for me this was a good start.

Oh ok, this had a nice flavour to it and a little burn, the after taste was also very nice and the sweetness did come through.

I actually enjoyed this, maybe the burn was not soo much but after a few sips that lessened and I was enjoying the nice flavours and aromas.

This is another whisky I will be adding to my list to buy, as I really liked its sweetness and how light it was.

Overall:

As you’ve just read I was pleasantly surprised with this whisky and enjoyed the flavour and aroma.

If you are a whisky fan or looking to try and get into whisky I would say this is the one to try as it’s light.

Just look at the box its packed full of goodies to make some bubble tea.

This whole process was very new to me, as I only have had bubble tea from the shop so this was going to be a fun experience.

Time to take everything out and get bubbling.

So many flavours and bubbles etc this was going to be very cool

I looked at the instructions and followed them.

My choice was strawberry powder and peach bubbles, this was my end result.

This looked good, and now it was time to taste and see if my little mix tasted nice.

This was really good, the tea, strawberry and popping of the peach bubbles all worked together and it was finished very fast.

I decided I couldn’t just stop at one, as I still had more goodies to use so I waited till the weekend so I could enjoy it with my lunch.

This is what I used :

  • 1 Green Tea (3 packets included)
  • Apple flavouring
  • Mango bits

I am going to start by saying I am not a fan of Green tea, but after making this wow I loved the flavours. The green tea I only got hints, the apple flavour and the mango all of it worked amazingly together.

This was my 100% favourite, out of the two that I have mentioned in this post.

There is still some tea bags left and some flavours etc so I will be making more and seeing how they turn out.

My 3rd and fav

This was the third one I made and now this is 100% my fav!!!!

This is what I used : ⁠

  • 1 Green Tea (3 packets included)⁠
  • Mango and Honey flavouring⁠
  • Strawberry bits⁠

I could have easily had many of these!!!

Overall :

Firstly a big thank you to Boba Bar for sending me this bubble tea kit, its a great idea and I can’t fault it in anyway.

I loved making these at home, as it was exciting to try it and see how my flavours worked together.

TFI Munchy Sweet Box Gifted Extra : Review

As you have seen from my previous blog post I ordered a munchy box from Taste Irvine and they were very kind to gift me a few extras.

Fanta (Mexican) Fresa : Strawberry

I have had Mexican cola but never Fanta Fresha, so I was very excited to try this.

I chilled it and since we have had good weather sat outside for dinner and had this.

Ohh I liked this! this was just sweet enough, had a nice strawberry flavour and I could have easily had another one.

Very refreshing, lovely taste and moreish.

Mixed Sweet Cup (Strawberry, Blue Raspberry, tango mix and cola cubes)

How cool does this look, lots of colours and am sure taste just as good as they look.

Ohh each of these were really good, the balls were nice flavoursome and chewy and the one that most of us associate with childhood…cola cubes mmmm so good!!

This was finished too fast, as they were just too easy to grab and eat.

Mixed Millions (Blackcurrant, strawberry, apple, bubble-gum and Vimto)

I had no idea what these were, so I had to ask.

I took one and then a small handful mmmm the flavours were nice and these were very chewy.

Since it was in a bag, and open you can probably guess my hand kept drifting and grabbing and drifting and grabbing till it was empty.

Galaxy : White Chocolate

I have recently started to enjoy white chocolate more, as I have made my white chocolate mint mousse a lot recently….remember to check out the recipe on my blog.

back to the this chocolate bar..

When I ordered my TFI box the guys at Taste Bistro said they would throw in this to try as at that point I posted another Galaxy chocolate bar so I was excited to try it.

Ohh this was nice, it was creamy, smooth and had a very nice white chocolate taste to it. Galaxy know how to do a good chocolate, and this was one 🙂
