DryGate Brewery NEW Bar Food and Cocktail Menu (Glasgow) : Review

Invited

V: 6th March 2020

The guys over at DryGate Brewery, invited me over to the launch night of their new bar Food and Cocktail menu.

Looking Around

I have been to Drygate many times, with friends or with the craft beer tasting tours so I know it very well.

The event tonight was upstairs, the new menu for upstairs only.

The Food

I didnt know what was in store for me tonight, but I was mega looking forward to it.

I was told that a sampler would be brought round to me, and I could select 2 cocktails to try which was great.

Sampler

  • Pizza By The Slice
  • Cauliflower Wings (VG)
  • Tacos : Crisp Fried Haddock
  • House Made Nachos (V)

All of these samples were very nice, and full of flavour, my favourite from this selection was the Cauliflower Wings and I could have easily had more.

The fish taco was nice, but the taco broke up for me very easily so I couldn’t grab and eat, I had to use my knife and fork.

And there was more..

This was Drygates Vegan Curry was served in a tiffin tray with bread, rice and dips.

Presentation wise I really liked this, and as you can see its very instagramable…..now for the taste..

This was a VERY good curry, and extremely moreish.

If you like currys you need to try this, and I promise you you wont regret it.

Cocktails :

Orinoco Russian : Vodka, Coffee Liqueur, Orinoco Syrup, Milk and Cream Chocolate

and

Pineapple Rum Old Fashioned : Plantation Pineapple Rum, Sugar and Orange Bitters

Both these cocktails were very good, but my fav and one I would definitely have again is the Orinoco Russian mmmmm so good čÖé

Visit Overall :

Note : Just because this was an invite, that has not influenced my thoughts in any way. The above is a 100% honest review of the day.

Firstly a big thanks to DryGate for my invite, I really had a great time and good food and cocktails.

I really loved the Cauliflower Wings and the Drygate Vegan curry, these were my top two dishes from tonight.

Overall I can recommend you visit and try the new menu and the cocktails, as I really enjoyed what I had. Thanks again guys čÖé

See you soon

J├äGERMEISTER UK UNVEIL ÔÇśJ├äGERMEISTER COLD BREW COFFEEÔÇÖ
A perfect fusion of J├Ągermeister, Cold Brew Coffee and Cacao

I was invited to visit the Tiki Bar in Glasgow, for the J├Ągermeister Cold Brew Coffee event which I was very excited to attend. One I love wee events and two I love coffee so this sounded interesting.

The inventive liqueur sees the classic J├Ągermeister recipe of 56 herbs and spices expertly fused with cold-brewed Arabica coffee and just a hint of cacao to create a new J├Ągermeister shot experience, with a barista touch.

I have never been to the Tiki Bar, but its always been on my list, so tonight was going to be a great night for many new things.

On entering I could see how funky this place was, plus lots of J├Ągermeister goodies and promo materiel this looked like it was going to be a fun event.

I was welcomed and offered a little taster, and this was an interesting taster. I could have a shot of Cold Brew, or a small ice cream cone with the shot….it was a hard decision so I went for both.

MMMMMMMMMMMMMM I loved this, it tasted like J├Ągermeister but MUCH BETTER….well for me as I have a sweet tooth and like coffee.

This for me was a perfect shot, it was amazing and I couldn’t wait to try more tonight.

I spotted a little list of cocktails that were being made tonight, that included J├Ągermeister’s new Cold Brew drink and they all sounded good…..which means I had to try them all.

I got talking to someone that worked at J├Ągermeister, he welcomed me and recommended that tonight I had to try the Espresso Martini.

This was a great recommendation as one of my favourite cocktails is an Espresso Martini…..now it was time to taste how it was with Cold Brew.

J├Ągermeister’s Cold Brew Coffee, Salted Caramel, Espresso, Vanilla

Ohhh now this was different but in a good way, it tasted like a normal Espresso Martini but sweeter and the salted caramel just rounded it off.

I don’t know if these cocktails were just for tonight, or will continue to be served but tonight the first for us was free but had a normal price of ┬ú6 which is a good price.

I loved this and could easily have more, but tonight there were others to try…

There were several cocktails available tonight but the Espresso Martini and the following two were my favourites.

Bounty Hunter
(Coconut-Washed J├Ągermeister’s Manifest, Honey and Chocolate Bitters)

This was very nice and had a good strong Bounty flavour, with a nice hint of the J├Ągermeister flavour coming through. This is another one I would recommend.

Gecko Club
(J├Ągermeister’s Cold Brew Coffee, Orgeat, Lime, Aromatic Bitters)

OH now this was different, the first flavour was the Cold Brew then it finished on a subtle Lime flavour which made it refreshing. Another one for you to try when visiting here or making it at home.

Overall :

Firstly a big thank you to J├Ągermeister for the invite tonight, and for the amazing night I enjoyed it from start to finish.

For me this was a really nice drink, and one I have already got myself a bottle at home to enjoy čÖé

I will either be going back to try more Cold Brew cocktails, or buying Cold Brew to make the Espresso Martini at home čÖé

J├Ągermeister’s Cold Brew will be available NOW in Morrisons and selected off-licenses NOW!!! and that it would work as a great Christmas gift.

I highly recommend this if you have a sweet tooth and like coffee.

Thanks Tiki Bar & J├Ągermeister čÖé

Kris Visits : Nomad Sky Bar (Bucharest, Romania) VLOG

While I was in Bucharest this year, I wanted to visit a sky bar but I didnÔÇÖt know what one. While we were walking about we came across this place.

This was a really nice one and I would visit again.
