Choco Slabs Chocolate : Review

At the time of typing this review and a little after, most of the accounts I follow started to post chocolate slabs and they all looks really good.

I decided to randomly select an account and Choco Slabs was the one I choose.

I couldn’t wait for them to arrive as I have a very very sweet tooth 🙂

About Choco Slab

Hey, we’re Sophie & Daniel!

We are a small, independent business located in Kent.

We make our fully-loaded chocolate slabs as a couple and… what we’ve learnt most about doing these… is Sophie is mostly the boss 🙂

“Chocolate is a gift of love to yourself.”

Our aim is to hand make delicious slabs, fully loaded with chocolate delivered straight to your door.

“Chocolate is happiness that you can eat.”

What Arrived

These are wrapped and have a cute little bow, I really liked this as it added to the presentation….plus the chocolate slabs looked really good and I couldn’t wait to dig in.

THE OLD SKOOL ONE (Mars, Rolo & Twix)

Cost : £4.99

Visually just looking at this its an instant mmmm but how does it taste?

I broke a bit off and took a bite…

Ohhhhhhh sweet, chocolaty, sticky, caramel mmmm this was sooo good!!!

This had everything right about it and its bad to say it was finished very very fast.

Rating: 5 out of 5.

THE LOTUS BISCOFF BAR

Cost : £4.99

Biscoff anything is good am I right? so I was really looking forward to this one.

I opened the chocolate and took a bite…

Ohhh the texture and the sweetness and the chocolate ohh very nice. This had a perfect balance of chocolate and biscoff you could taste and enjoy both.

Overall :

If you have a sweet tooth and want to help some small businesses then why not check out Choco Slabs, I don’t have any issues with what I got as it all tasted really nice and presented nicely to.

Both slabs were finished the night they were opened, and I really enjoyed the texture and taste.

Christmas Day box by  @cakesandcrumbsbykim : Review

GIFTED

It’s beginning to taste a lot like Christmas

@cakesandcrumbsbykim contacted me on Instagram and asked if I would like to try her cakes, what I didn’t know till later is that she would be gifting me two boxes.

The first is the Christmas Eve box and the second Is the Christmas Day box.⠀⠀

I have already reviewed the Christmas Eve Box here, so now on to the Christmas Day Box⠀

Box Contents :

  • Chocolate Orange Cookies⠀
  • Bailies Cupcakes⠀
  • Chambord Truffles⠀
  • Lemon Coconut Truffles⠀
  • Gold Chocolate Strawberries⠀

Again just like the Christmas Eve box the presentation is perfect, the Colour of paper used with all the goodies makes them stand out and adds to that festive feel.⠀

Chocolate Orange Cookies :

I started with the cookies, as I am a cookie fan  and these visually looked very much eye candy!

I took a bite and instantly transported to my happy place, the flavour the texture mmmm

OMG I was in heaven these were amazing, soft, packed with flavour and I enjoyed everyone.

Chambord Truffles, Lemon Coconut Truffles and Gold Chocolate Strawberries

Chambord Truffles :

That the wee red ones you see in my photos.⠀

Chambord plus truffles always has to be a good combo 🙂 and yes they were :)⠀

Lemon Coconut Truffles :

OMG these were so good too, the flavour was amazing!!! Unfortunately these were finished very fast hehe⠀

Gold Chocolate Strawberries :

Come on any Strawberries covered is always great and these were to, and how cute they were gold 🙂 which really added to the visuals of the box plus added to that festive feel.

Bailies Cupcakes :

Now this was interesting, as you can see from the photo it has a wee dropper and its filled with Bailies

I squeezed the dropper and then took a massive bite!!!!

This was so so so good, everything was perfect…the base nice and soft and chocolaty, the cream mmm and the flavour of the Bailies it was a perfect cupcake.

Overall :

Note : Just because this was gifted, that has not influenced my thoughts in any way. The above is a 100% honest review of the Christmas Day Box.

I cant fault anything about either of these boxes, they visually looked really good and everything was very very tasty.

Christmas Eve box by  @cakesandcrumbsbykim : Review

GIFTED

It’s beginning to taste a lot like Christmas….well taste like Christmas.

@cakesandcrumbsbykim contacted me on Instagram and asked if I would like to try her cakes, what I didn’t know till later is that she would be gifting me two boxes.

The first is the Christmas Eve box and the second was the Christmas Day box.⠀⠀

I started with the Christmas Eve box, as it made sense too.⠀⠀

Box Contents :

  • Cookies for Santa⠀
  • Reindeer Food (plus message)⠀
  • Candy Cane cup for hot chocolate⠀
  • Chocolate Christmas Tree Cupcake⠀
  • Vanilla Snowman Cupcake⠀
  • Candy Cane Marshmallow Cups⠀

Firstly let me say WOW I was MEGA impressed at the display, the paper, the items everything looked very very professional!⠀

Everything was very colourful, and due to the paper colour it made every item stand out more and create a great look.

Now it was time to see if they tasted as good as they looked.

Cookies for Santa

First thing I noticed was visually they looked super festive, and very much eye candy…time for a taste. ⠀

I have a sweet tooth and these instantly hit the spot, so much so I actually had two one right after the other hehe ⠀

The flavour and texture was really good and perfect for all you sweet tooth followers :)⠀

Oh and yeah I am sure Santa would love to nibble on these.

Candy Cane Marshmallow Cups

How cute are these, with the wee candy cane on top?

These were very cute, and I loved the taste the base was like a biscuit which worked very well with the marshmallow ⠀

These would be perfect with a nice hot chocolate or coffee

Chocolate Christmas Tree Cupcake

This cupcake was visually really nice, I loved the colour and the decorations…I know what your thinking “not really the right word for a cupcake” but hey its a Christmas Tree cupcake so it works :p

I didn’t really want to bite into this as I liked how it looked….but I had to.

The base was lovely and soft and the top mmm and both worked really well.

I could have easily had two of these

Vanilla Snowman Cupcake

How cute does this wee guy look, part of me didn’t want to eat him but the other part wanted to see how he tasted.

This guy was really nice, the base was nice and soft buttery and the topping very creamy and tasty.

Just like everything in this box, I could have easily had more
