Since I have started going to the West End of Glasgow more, I have occasionally passed this place and also thought I will need to pop in one day and give it a shot so today was the day.

There are 4 areas you can sit at :

  1. The Bar
  2. Outside
  3. Booths (inside to the left)
  4. Upstairs

Today’s visit we opted to sit outside as it was a nice sunny day, I had a quick look around inside and its really nice.

I had a quick look at the menu and decided lets try a burger from here, and see what its like.

The Food

Bacon and Cheese Burger : £7
6oz beef patty topped with melted cheese and bacon

A Bacon and cheese burger is a simple but nice burger, so I hoped they did it well.

When this arrived it smelled really good, and these chips AMAZING!!! this is exactly how I like my chips. I knew if the burger was going to be bad or OK, the chips would make up for it.

The burger was good, I wouldn’t say its the best burger I have had but it was good. The meat was nice and tender and had flavour, and the bacon and cheese added the extra flavour needed.

The chips well I can only say I could have had a BIG bowl of them just on their own as they were so good, so now I know where to go when I want chips.

Side Note : We also tried the curly fries but not as good as the ones above

Cocktail Time…

I couldn’t not try at least one cocktail from the menu today….

Drumstick Cocktail £5
A cocktail version using Absolute Vanilla, Raspberry Liqueur & Cranberry Juice, garnished with a Drumstick lolly

I have a sweet tooth, and I have tried this cocktail once before so it was one I had to try tonight.

This was really good if you have a very sweet tooth, my only issue was some of the raspberry’s they added were broken up and at the bottom of the glass which got stuck in the straw when trying to drink it. It didn’t really need these, and could have been left out.

Side Note : If you do want to eat the lolly, take it out once the cocktail arrives and let it sit as its very hard and needs to soften

Overall :

My first visit was good, I left thinking that was a nice cocktail and amazing chips.

The burger well for what it was it was just OK, its not in my top 3 places for a burger but I will go back and try some other ones.

Visit Date :  9th April 2017

This restaurant was added recently to my list to visit, and was visited just as fast as it was added.

I am not that big on fish and chips, I normally order a Haggis Supper or Sausage Supper if I get anything from the Chippie.

I did see they did other dishes so I knew I would find something on the menu that would be good to order.

First Impressions :

On entering the first thing you see is where they cook the food, and instantly hit with tone of amazing smells and visual delights.

We were shown upstairs to our table.

Upstairs is a very cosy environment, as you can see from the photos above. I would have liked to have been seated next to the window, but at the time I visited they were all occupied.

Main :

The Fish Burger £ 9.95
Breaded cod goujons stacked high with onion rings, calamari rings, and tartare sauce.

I decided to order the fish burger, that way I could try some fish and also taste the chips.

I started trying the chips, they come without any salt on them and freshly made. They were very nice without any salt, and they were nice with salt so I was very impressed with them.

The burger was a mouthful, it was very nice but I found it to be very dry. I had to put sauce on it and keep putting it on, it was nice but that was the only issue I had.

The onion and calamari rings were amazing, normally not a fan of onion rings as they come back on me and they are too strong but these were amazing.

Overall :

Overall my first visit was good, I enjoyed the food and the atmosphere.

I don’t think I would have the fish burger again, I would try something else on the menu.

See you soon.

Visit Date : 17 April 2017

I had been to Smoke BBQ long ago, and was a little disappointed so it was time to give it a second shot. The reason I was disappointed was, what I wanted to order they didn’t have left so I had to try something else.

Just like the last time we were shown to the table, and given some popcorn to snack on while we waited.

This is a funky idea, and the popcorn was nice shame they only brought one little one to share between two.
