Fratelli’s (Cambuslang, Glasgow) takeaway via FoodHub : Review

GIFTED

The guys over at FoodHub gifted me with a wee voucher to order a meal and again check out their app.

The app is just like your other takeaway ordering apps, see my other review here

I wanted to try another place I have not used for a while, so I opted for Italian tonight.

The Food

I have ordered a takeaway from here a good few years ago, and enjoyed it at that point and as I said I felt like an Italian tonight so thought would check them out again.

Drink

187ml Pinot Grigio White £3.25

I am not a big wine drinker, it is an area I would like to learn more about so I cant go into loads of details about this.

For me this was very nice, light and worked perfect with my meal tonight.

Main Course :

Spaghetti Carbonara £7.80

Carbonara can be done two ways, the good way and the bad way with cream….this I was very happy to see was done the good way.

This was really good! the flavour and everything about it was really nice.

It was a massive portion, as I ate 2/3’s of the portion as it was very filling.

I would have this again.

Desert :

Biscoff Cheesecake £4.95

My eyes are always bigger than my belly….as the saying goes….and I had to check out this cake as Biscoff anything is ALWAYS really nice.

So after my Carbonara I waited a while till I wasnt feeling as full, and started to eat this.

This was really nice, I liked the flavour and texture.

Firstly a big thanks to FoodHub again, the service from the app just like the last few times has been perfect!

Service and food from Fratelli’s was really good, I was very impressed with the quality and the portion size.

Coulotte Steakhouse Take Away (Cambuslang, Glasgow) : Review

Order Date : 6th November 2020

Before this place opened their social media followed me, which alerted me to them opening. Since then I have kept watch to what they offer, and I did aim to take a visit…but this year has not really been the best to visit restaurants, unfortunately.

My Order

I decided to go for a burger tonight….

The Coulotter Burger £12.95

Burger topped with 5oz Coulotte steak, garlic fried onions, smoked cheese sauce, Parmesan and poppy seed crisp, burger sauce, lettuce, tomato, onion and pickle

Yup all that and as you can see it was a MASSIVE burger and I did try and eat it with my hands but it won so I had to cut it up and eat it that way.

The flavour of the garlic onions, smoked cheese sauce was amazing!!!! this really made this burger mega tasty.

Each bit was very nice, and that sauce etc really did make this a very tasty burger.

If you do try to eat this burger with your hands, make sure you have many napkins as you will need it as its a messy one.

Chilli Salt ‘N’ Pepper Chips (v) £2.75

Along with the big burger which you will have seen from above, I got a side of chips.⠀

For me thick chips are meh, skinny fries are 100% better but I would give these a go and see what they were like.

These were actually ok, they had a nice crispness to them and the flavour was nice.

These worked really well with the flavour of the burger.

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

Overall :

Overall I had a really nice take away, the burger was good the fries were good and I cant really fault them.

When I order again I think I would like to try their chicken burgers, and see how they are so keep watching for when I do another order from here.

Also once I have time and things go back to normal, I will take a wee visit inside to see what its like.

My first week at the Gym : No pain no gain…so they say

gym-546138_960_720.jpg

Gym Name: Fit4Less

My Gym Stuff :

  • Basic running trainers
  • Shorts
  • T-shirt
  • AppleWatch

Well, this is an interesting venture for me, as normally you would find me horizontal watching Netflix.

So I decided to join the gym, as I wanted to tone up as being a food blogger is slowly taking its toll around the midsection…so I thought let’s get rid of it before it makes a full-time appearance.

Joining a gym is a scary experience as it’s new territory, and you start thinking what will everyone think when they see me.

To be honest, this is the feeling, but the reason the people inside the gym look at you really is just to see if they know you.

The gym I joined is my local gym, mostly due to its price and location as the ones in town for me are too costly…and if I did a pay as you go I wouldn’t keep it up so I opted for monthly payments.

Thoughts…

I managed to meet a nice PT there and he showed me around, and how to use some of the machines.

I then told him what I wanted to achieve during my time at the gym, so I looked around and followed his advice.

He told me to start with 3 sets of 10 on several machines for the first month, then after that every month increase the weight to the next step keeping 3 sets of 10.

For me this sounded good, as I knew I didn’t want to go all in and hurt myself then have a break and then not come back so this sounded good to me.

Overall…

So I won’t be showing a half-naked photo of me in my current body look, as it’s been done too many times with many different people but I will keep you posted on how I do…plus I don’t want to put you off your food.

For me the first week was good, granted at nights my upper body would be sore and waken me but no pain no gain right?

At home, I will be doing the weights and crunches, and the rest at the Gym. I have also made a few changed to my diet….a little. I will only have an alcoholic drink once a week max, and also no in-between snacks….also I have started to take water to replace any fizzy drinks.

Let’s see how this goes 🙂
