The Cove (Gourock, Scotland) 2021 : Review

The Visit

I have been to The Cove a good few times, but sometimes eat what I order before I take photos…bad blogger I know but hey I was hungry.

I visited The Cove (used to be called One Cove Road) on the 23rd May, as its been a while and its a lovely drive and lovely view when your inside having your coffee or snack.

What I Ordered..

Pancake Tower : Maple Syrup & Bacon £6.95

I have had this a few times when I have visited in the past, and I couldn’t not order it today as it was really good.

On arrival this looked very tasty and smelled really good!

I put the slices of bacon in between the pancakes, then poured the syrup all over….just look how good and shiny and mmmmmm it looked.

Time to dig in.

So good! everything made the perfect bite!

The bacon was lovely and super tasty, the pancakes light and fluffy and the syrup not too sweet, and as I said it all worked very very well together.

I was actually wanting to order a coffee and a small cake, but this was very filling this is all I had. I guess I will have to do that next visit.

Smash Burger 2021 (Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow) : Review

The Invite

The guys ay Smash Burger in Glasgow asked me to pop in to try a burger, I have been here a few times and done a few reviews as their burgers are really good so I said yes 🙂

I had no idea what to order as there are so many great burgers on their menu….but a decision had to be made and this is what I selected.

BBQ, Bacon & Cheddar Burger
Two juicy beef patties, BBQ sauce with Applewood smoked bacon,
cheddar & haystack onions on a SMASH bun.

Firstly look how good this looks, and trust me it was even better looking in person.

After taking a few photos it was time to dig in.

I took a massive bite and mmm wow the beef was lovely and tender and all the flavours mixed together it was really really good. Every bit was an explosion of flavours in my mouth and I loved every bite.

Smash Fries
Tossed in Italian olive oil, rosemary & garlic

I always have these fries when I visit, they are cooked perfectly and the flavours are lovely.

This visit they didn’t disappoint and I highly recommend you try these when you visit.

Avocado Club
Two juicy beef patties, fresh avocado with Applewood smoked
bacon, lettuce, tomato, ranch dressing & mayo on a multi-grain bun.

I visited today with my dad, and this was his burger of choice, I did try some and here are my thoughts.

The Applewood smoked bacon and avocado with the burger was a great flavour, and one that was so good every bite.

The multi-grain bun added a great flavour and texture to the whole burger.

My dad said the burger was very juicy and packed a great flavour.

Firstly a big thanks to Smash Burger for the invite and the burgers.

Smash Burger for me is always one I recommend if anyone is asking for a burger place in Glasgow, the service, staff and the food has always been amazing.

All that’s left to say is Smash Burger has smashed it again for me.

Kimchi Cult! (West End, Glasgow) : Review

14 Chancellor Street
Glasgow G11 5RQ

V: 22nd June 2018      T:  0141 258 8081  W:

Child-Friendly: Yes (well-behaved kids)      Accepts: Cash & Card

Back again for a second visit…I didn’t know what to order so I decided to try the Special burger….

Main Course

Kimchi Cult Special £8.00
Beef burger topped with kimchi, cheese, mustard & bacon

I decided that I would try this one since it was their main burger.

Basically, it was a cheese and bacon burger, so now it was the time to taste.

Burger-wise it was very good, but one slice of bacon? again it needed two minimum as one was not enough to even taste the bacon.

As promised I returned and tried something different, but was left a little disappointed due to having a bacon burger and not really finding and tasting the bacon part of the burger.

I will go back and try a few other things, but I would probably just stick to the cheeseburger if getting burgers here.
